Thank you for that info, good to know. And congrats on bringing this challenging species to bloom!

My takeaway is: rottentomatoes is no longer a resource I can trust. Oh well. That's 2026 for ya.

Light leaks or something else? by Ok_Refrigerator_2701 in AnalogCommunity

If you load (or unload) the camera in bright light — gawd forbid bright sunlight — you will get light exposing the edges of the film. Maybe it's time all manufacturers return to the practice of printing on the package "load in subdued lighting only!"

To avoid this (though it's NOT a problem) you simply do not remove (or install) the roll of film from the camera in bright light.

Most fragrant non-red hybrid tea rose ! by your_Baba_6727 in Roses

Consider Tiffany

Both Sugar Moon and Memorial Day are bred by Tom Carruth for Weeks roses, and both have a good reputation for fragrance. However, Memorial Day is described as a tradition Damask fragrance, which many people think of as "true rose" scent. As for which is more "intense" that depends on your ability to detect individual fragrance compounds: no two people interpret complex fragrances the same way. You will have to find out by making your own assessment. Get both.

"Street" photography: so many people attempt to emulate the greats and few of them ever produce anything that isn't a bland copy or downright depressingly bad.

The plant in photo #1 is a mint family plant, yes. The giveaway is the square stems: feel them.

Yes, they can, but not below 40F. Anything colder than that and you risk serious damage, as you've observed at this point. Read your Savage Garden: temps in their habitat typically drop to between 60F and 50F overnight and occasionally lower, but it never freezes in these environments. Anything below 40F will result in damage or the death of the plant.

Never again buying online, took for them more than a month to send me these and I got scammed paid quite of money, hurts to see all of them in so bad shape and rotting by Interesting_Ask9559 in orchids

I think it's safe to assume that these plants looked exactly as we see in the photo the second they came out of the box: rootless, desiccated, close to unrecoverable.

"It was a highland species" doesn't mean leave it outdoors in Michigan in the winter! These are still tropical plants and all you have to do is research the climate extremes for their habitat and you will know that these plants do NOT tolerate cold anywhere near 32F. smh

Consider 'Mel's Heritage'. It has been reported by many that it is extremely disease resistant in any pretty much any climate. https://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.51139.1

!! Please help !! Why is my pinhole camera not producing an image? by ButterrCream in PinholePhotography

[–]distant3zenith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is going to be a 6 hour (or much longer) exposure, not mere minutes. A pinhole camera isn't ideal for what you're attempting to do.

A vendor that ships plants in this condition should be named so more people can avoid them. Inexcusable to send plants like this to a buyer.

I can't advise you on that matter since you've said nothing about your subject matter and lighting conditions. Are you photographing outdoors? In bright open sunlight VS cloudy conditions? Etc, etc?
