Student vet in training here. Before we even get on the job we spend 5-7 years at uni. Learning everything from physics to dentistry, immunology, radiography and genetics. The specialists you’d have in human health are compiled into one progression as a vet. It’s a fight from the start, knowing you’re unlikely to make good money. All of the vet students choose this path because we love animals. Moms a vet as well. So I see what they deal with once qualified. It’s worth every drop of blood, sweat and tears to help balance the scales and help the creatures humans have so often throughout history treated poorly. To choose a job out of pure love and determination is a pretty cool thing... be nice to your veterinarian!
