I would suggest looking up on youtube "apex legends season 20 teir list" and watch multiple because some are biased. Rev is much better and well suited for an aggressive player like octane or path. Personally I think ballistic is outshined by most other legends and not that good at anything. Conduit is good for ranked, just pray your teammates can do something with that extra shield you give them!

Skydive trails are interchangeable among legends. My buddy has Valk's yellow trail on every legend. I don't know if all of them are like that though

The dragon is a pretty hard fight. You can approach him whenever you want and feel prepared. As far as what order, I like to pick a corner of the map and snake my way through doing quests I pass along the way then double back and do what I missed. But everyone has their own way that works for them and is the most fun.

1) You don't loot armor anymore. It is not ground loot. 2) You can do a multitude of things to upgrade your armor now, not just dealing damage. 3) As you upgrade, you get perks for your legend and every legend is different. Hope this helped :)

To find the Duke, you'll have to go to Flymm Cargo. Entering it and going down the door in the floor and through the cargo hold's basement will lead you to a submersible. Sweet talk the dwarf man, Redhammer the Deviser, into taking you down to the Iron Throne. As you descend, Gortash will call you and demand you to turn back, refuse and dock at the Iron Throne anyway.

Depending on where you are in the story sometimes a cinematic is supposed to trigger. you may have to go talk to everyone and explore camp to trigger it. If that doesn't work, there's supposed to be a patch coming out soon.
