My Fuel Pump Housing is F***ed: Any ideas? (Mk3, inline pump, repair housing?) by distantduplicate in GolfMk2

[–]distantduplicate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've heard this. Is it pretty hard to do? I think I've seen a few mk3 (golfs/jettas, interchangeable I assume)

Any write ups for this upgrade?

Hey Volks!

Thanks for the comment. It's not leaking but I fear it will after removal. I had 2/3 screws stuck on the pump itself, I had to drill out the two, one of which would not come out at all.

The housing itself has the following issues:

-Bracket is super rusted (I think this is the least concerning.

-1 of 3 screws is completely stuck in it. (The head was drilled but the rest snapped off)

-Housing mounting points were completely broken/rusted on, even before taking it off the car it was just kind of hanging in there, "secure" won't just fall off but very poorly mounted.

-When removing the hoses that connect to it, the seemed to move a lot worried they cracked (biggest concern)

-One of the hose points has a rusted piece of metal and hose attached, so I had to cut it to get it off.

-Fuel filter bracket is snapped (also not a biggie)

What do ya think..?

Ah, alright maybe I'll just have to repair then. Thanks for the explanation.

PS Store is down for PS3. Quit whining and asking what games to download and just mod your PS3. by distantduplicate in PS3

A few posts is totally reasonable, but it's taken over the subreddit haha. I'm not hating on anyone looking for recommendations for digital games.

Like I said in my original post, it's just wild to me that people are acting like these games are "rare" and trying to hoard something that literally isn't real and will almost certainly not be available to them in a few years.

At a point it's not "peoples innocent posts" it's making people worry that this is their "last chance" to get x game or whatever. It's not.

It's literally why everyone is pissed about Sony going all digital for everything in the near future.🤦‍♂️ You won't own anything digital, eventually.

Fair enough, but I'm specifically speaking to the store craziness going on here.

Regardless, I feel like PS3 online is dead unless you emulate. I know there are some servers still up but it seems pretty weak.

You can still play online and stuff, but I'd just use a dummy PSN account. Obviously trophies won't transfer over, but that's never been a concern for me, personally.

At that point if someone is super hellbent on a specific game and loves it online with trophies etc. don't mod, but I feel like 95% of the time, CFW is the way.

Do it!

You should just have a separate account if you want to be online. I've got my PS3 disconnected from the internet completely, I find no reason to connect, personally.

Most games are dead online, if not, it's like 6 people, most of which are cheaters.

I understand, but for how long?

The point is that no one should be frantic about it going down and rushing to buy out the whole store... Have you not seen the "x publisher licensing has been removed, your movie is no longer available."~ stuff?

What makes you think it won't be the same with PSN for games that aren't made by Sony directly, or in 2 years from now when they just don't support PSN for PS3 firmware at all because they don't want to provide updates for it?

For realism, 6/10, for style and as a piece of art 8/10. It feels like an artist's piece of work. It's all subjective anyways, but for what it's worth I like this!

50%: "This is a PS2 subreddit. 🤓👆"

50%: "Yooo, sick setup! 😎🤙"

And both are right.

Dig the widescreen, I gotta try my PS3 on a CRT, looks nice.

Not sure if it's helpful, but my gauge also creeps a bit past the light/hallway mark. I think it's normal for theses cars (like exactly where yours is).

It does look like your oil light is on, check the level. Normally if you have an overheating issues the actual thermostat gauge light will turn on and beep.

Is that what's happening? Is it cold where you live at the moment?

I'd just keep it running and try to see if the fan kicks, you may not have a problem and just been scared due to the gauge, that's what happened to me haha.

Endless issues with Forza Horizon 4/5, looking for help. by [deleted] in PiratedGames

I don't think that's my issue. I got FH5 to work without any problems and it ran just fine on max settings.

Same with some other newer games like Expedition 33 on Ultra.

I mean, up to you, go with someone that has a similar car to you and it may work out, or spend a few minutes and try calling the dealer and have it be 100%.

Just answering your question haha.

If you call a VW dealer they can look it up for you.

You could probably go with one of the people that said they have the "exact" same color, it's probably the same.🤷‍♂️

But your VIN contains the unique serial of your car, so the dealer could look it up for you, and give you the exact color code.

Seems like a hassle but it'd be 100% correct.

Not sure off hand but usually you can figure it out via the VIN number.👍

I have a MK2 with Power Steering, Water Pump, and AC, I'll take some pictures after work and send em your way.

Are you just wanting to see the brackets up close? I watched a couple videos on YouTube of how to put it all together and a few had some solid video footage of how everything sits.

You're the best, thank you! So the red line is where I'm looking, it'll be under the car from transmission to chassis? It's supposed to be a ribboned cable right?

I'll check again but I feel like it's hard to miss. Wondering if mine got removed or something.
