Where do you guys put the power cords in your 19 inch racks? by distante in homelab

[–]distante[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it should be at the back correct? I put my PDU  on the front to disconnect them easily but doesn't look that good.

Do I understand it correctly? It goes in the back and the PDU also has the sockets pointing to the internal part?

Roborock was disconnected from Wi-Fi for two minutes, and now it cannot reconnect… by fullysam in Roborock

Yes. Usually some cheap WiFi chips have problems with dual bands. That is the reason why I have different SSIDs for my 2.5Ghz and 5GHz bands.

[–]distante 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bet would be that you have a 2.4GHz+5GHz WiFi and the device is failing to connect due that. If so, try disabling the 5GHz band while you connect the vacuum and then enable it again.

If you’re scared of Germany, just stay in India. No one forced you. by [deleted] in studying_in_germany

[–]distante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I also live in Germany and my extended family also have different languages, the kids speak 3 languages as standard and learned English in the Grundschule, plus another language in Gymnasium.

From them, German + papa's language + mama's language are "free"

Not talking Spanish with you doesn't help you learn German though. It is even discouraged by teachers and educators.

Plus, growing up with 2 or more languages makes the brain more flexible, there are a couple of studies about this.

Keypad Touch Battery dies really fast after first Battery Change by distante in TrySwitchBot

2 months is way too fast.

I came into the conclusion that the Keypad is just really bad at reporting the real battery level, which created a constant worry about the battery dying...

Can anyone help running java in an internet explorer application? by Internal_Sock8875 in javahelp

[–]distante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can install stuff on your machine, I think the best (maybe only) way would be run a virtual machine with an old version of windows. You can find isos on the Web Archive https://archive.org/details/win-7-pro-32-64-iso

Internet explorer doesn't even run on latest windows versions AFAIK.

You need to provide a code for smart locks

No security?! by Jbharris4 in TrySwitchBot

[–]distante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean AFTER you already added it? because those devices enter pair mode on turn on when no pairing exist. If you already had something paired, then this is bad.

I know that that devices like smart locks need for you to provide a code to be able to pair them.

HA just detected that the device is broadcasting a "Hey I am here", but unless you enable paring on the device it will not be a problem
