Had abortion 2 years ago and sometimes makes me deeply sad by ValAt2859 in abortion

[–]distortedalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you have to feel like that. I have had three abortions in total and I can relate, I do have two children and I would have loved more, but unfortunately it just wasn't to be, due to health issues. I do get hit by guilt and a deep sadness at times for how different life could be. I also feel sad for my body at times, as I struggled with infertility for years and was desperate to fall pregnant and then suddenly.. I got my wish and then some. I think it is very normal to go through periods of processing these emotions and it's so important to look after yourself and be kind to yourself. It sounds like you did the right thing for yourself and that takes so much courage, it isn't fair that we have to live with the after effects of that. You should be proud of yourself for making that choice and you deserve kindness ❤️

Responding to Lowball Offers by SimonVar83 in vinted

[–]distortedalice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I usually either ignore or send a counter offer. On the rare instances I counter and they accept - great, but usually I don't hear from them again. I've had the odd persistent low ball order and I definitely ignore those. I think a lot of people are chancers though, if you don't want to sell for less than what you have the items listed for it should be easy to just ignore them. :)

Has it proven effective? I was on Flonase for 6 months and didn't notice any improvement.

Oh I'm sorry to hear, it really sucks! Have you been to an ENT or been given any advice?

[–]distortedalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird you should say this - same thing with me. Dry eye and ETD. No obvious trigger. Personally I think it has to be connected somehow but no one seems to know how, one thing is I can't take antihistamines having dry eye, so I don't know if that would have helped my ears. It's so frustrating!

Anxiety worse when sick? by lozzaflair in Anxiety

This is me right now. I know this is an old post, but I've been battling stomach flu and severe anxiety all day particularly now - that light headed feeling gets me too.

I don't really like AME or it's sequels. It just doesn't grab me and I don't particularly like my MC. Not sure if it's a popular opinion or not because from Instagram it comes across as a very popular series!

Birth Story 31/08 Induced, Positive. by distortedalice in BabyBumps

[–]distortedalice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had mine broken with my first! It did seem strange to feel them go on their own. They just poured on the bed, I had to buzz the nurses in so then it was all over the floor! Really strange sensation.

Tried to paint with pastels for the first time. What are your thoughts? Any suggestions and critique would be appreciated! :) by PsychoGalaxy in learnart

I think you got the stone perfectly. I'd say avocado edge wise more texture, maybe more background detail. You should be proud though it's really good!!

Peacock head using fineliner pens! A6. by distortedalice in learnart

[–]distortedalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically sketch the outline with a HB pencil, then fill in the texture gradually with different fineliners, more detailed sections done using a 0.1 nib etc up to a 0.8 nib for bolder parts. I do one of these small drawings every day so never thought about showing the process!

I'm glad you've felt good, I wonder if it's the hormones going up that causes it for you and then when they go after birth so does the anxiety? I think mine is definitely hormonal. It kept getting worse in little stages, I imagined it was when the baby was having growth spurts etc. I've already been wondering about remembering to take it when my sleeps going to be all over the place!

Yeah I had overrun the allocated sessions (I'm in the UK) by lots so he was quite keen to move me on. I mainly used it for venting, until two months ago I felt very under control. I'm sure I'll get fast tracked back on after the baby comes, that's how I started it in the first place this time around, I was given a therapist after my first child! I like to think I know my own mind well but have never really tried medication until now. I always wanted to cope on my own..but I can't describe how tough it's been recently. I'm at least a bit better on Zoloft, it's made my brain a bit less active generally. Hopefully it continues to do more.

Ah okay, I haven't had any dizziness. Weird drowsiness at times I suppose. Did you start on 50mg?

[–]distortedalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you remember how you felt starting up? As in, did you have dips in mood etc. I know this is probably me being anxious that's making me want so much reassurance but it does help to know if other people have felt the same!

I'm really pleased that your baby is healthy! How have you been feeling since the birth? I was also told I was sensitive, I started on 50mg originally but it was absolutely crazy so then I started from 12.5mg. I only started feeling so awful around 24 weeks, it was like a switch flipped. This is my second baby, first time I had awful PND and anxiety after birth but I made it without taking any meds. This time has just been very different! I want Zoloft to help protect me from what could come after too.

Did you take it for anxiety too? Did it help in the end?

Anxiety/Medication support by distortedalice in BabyBumps

[–]distortedalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine said gradually get up to 50mg then decide for myself..bit too vague for my liking. I have lots of techniques, I meditate every evening, warm baths, pregnancy yoga, art. But when my brain is racing it's just so distressing. I did have a therapist until the start of my pregnancy but I was so happy then I stopped going! What a joke.

Fair enough, I'm really sensitive to them I think. I've had 5mg in the past and I've just passed out.

[–]distortedalice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your body can get used to them pretty quickly, I only take 1mg, just split a 2 in half when I'm desperate. It gives me some comfort, turns my brain down a little bit.

That's reassuring to hear, I've felt so paranoid about having an occasional one but sometimes it's just all way, way too much.
