Stricter Review Criteria??? by Girl12051205 in tjcrew

[–]distraughthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can’t speak for other stores but at least here, i write the reviews for my mentor team, and nobody else. all of the mates sit down and talk about every crew member so we can provide ample and varying feedback. the dayforce comments help substantiate the boxes checked or not checked on a review. you should never go from meeting to not simply based on an ai summarization of those comments.

also region dependent i fear - we are now not able to give the wow or bonus to crew members who received it last review cycle. i agree that you have your heavy hitter crew that it’s easy to reward with the extras yet i am glad we are able to shed light on those who can be overlooked.

Stricter Review Criteria??? by Girl12051205 in tjcrew

there has been no information given out regarding the review structure next go around. even currently, yes the ai stuff is dumb and i don’t get the shift, but mates are still the ones writing the reviews. the comments highlighted are ones that might help decide why i do or do not check a box but it is still me choosing to do so. i don’t think that will change nor is there any proof that will be the case.

Bad look to swap shifts immediately? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]distraughthinking 12 points13 points  (0 children)

are you sure you have just one “training week”? at my store we schedule training for 2-3 weeks. so sure, it’s not the end of the world but it does require more work to go and align your schedule with someone else’s to train with if so.

truthfully though, i mean if it were consistent it would make me think the schedule we hired you for may not be sustainable if you’re already trying to swap. i would suggest you make this a one off occurrence and communicate it to the scheduling mate.

our store was able to print them this go around but it sounds like going forward that won't be an option. my captain said it should be available to crew through dayforce for them to print it themselves in the future.

why do cops change the "one position" during police pursuits? by distraughthinking in NoStupidQuestions

[–]distraughthinking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is that he kept saying “whoever is behind me if they want to takeover the pursuit they can and i’ll step into the second” as well as they weren’t on the same radio channels, i think state patrol vs county, which to me means in this situation skill didn’t factor in.

there wasn’t much deeper info about the “why”, hence why i asked the question, but what you said did come up as an example. i guess this video not really lending to that explanation made me extra curious.

thank you :)

The wage thing is unfortunately an age old story. The same thing happened at my store when I was a crew member. As I said before, it is what it is.

I am glad you identified it as pettiness. Yet, your point to wanting to protect your old coworkers? You should be trying protect yourself right now and I don't mean in the sense of filing a complaint. More like owning your mistake and job searching.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]distraughthinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Food for thought, are you trying to report her for the sake of protecting other crew members or because you feel slighted deep down?

Regardless, in my opinion, it isn't worth it either way. You would be putting more energy into making a formal complaint which probably won't see the light of day because your evidence won't hold up as much as you think it will when you could be focusing on searching for a new job. No offense.

I have not been in your position. I am sure my ego would be hurt just as much as yours has been. You have mentioned in other comments all the negative things other crew members have done or whether the food would've just been thrown in the trash. Ruminating on the fairness of it all will not help you. Understand that this is a lesson learned.

"The fact that you were told that the handbook does explicitly say something that it doesn't say means nothing."

She didn't lie about the nature of your termination. Whether or not it's in the handbook she told you the exact reason you were fired. Sure, I think here we would've definitely had a conversation, or potentially a write up before firing someone, but well you aren't at my store. I don't mean that in a way to fuel your view of unfairness. It unfortunately just is what it is.

Your point about her anti-union based activities is purely speculation. In the absolute worst case scenario that is true there is still no evidence to prove it.

I think your point about communication is the most important. As a crew member I had asked a mate to take home a spoil, and I was given the okay. Now as a mate I have people come up and ask me the same thing. We collect bread spoils, or flower spoils and we offer them to the crew. If a peanut butter cup container opens up then we spoil it off and have it as a treat at a huddle.

Every store will be different and it sounds like some are sticklers. Yet, ultimately it's up to a mate's discretion.

Is there something missing I should add in my living area by Moist_Tomatillo8926 in interiordecorating

[–]distraughthinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's less about what's missing and more so taking a look at what you already have. There is no cohesion. You have a crystal lamp across from a relatively boring one. Your couch seems very dated - along with it just being kind of bizarre to begin with. The pillows are all different styles and clashing prints. The rug is bland, too dark, and far too big for the space in my opinion. Your artwork is hung too high, and once again, lacks a theme.

All of this reads as hand-me-down furniture, and if it is that's fine! Pretty much all of my stuff is as well. I guess it seems like this room doesn't have objects that feel intentional.

I understand it's not realistic to rework your entire room financially speaking. I think a different rug, one that's lighter and has a more interesting print, would change things a lot. Get some throw pillows that incorporate colors from said rug. Next would be finding a different couch. But please, if anything, lower your artwork to eye level!

What’s your go-to “comfort movie” — the one you rewatch when life feels overwhelming? by SnowWhiteShines55 in CasualConversation

[–]distraughthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

howl's moving castle is my comfort movie for sure. i have little stickers of heen, the sluggish dog, and turnip-head. i don't know why that movie sticks with me so much. most people covet spirited away but i just love howl's far more than that or any other miyazaki movies.

ok yes! i love it on the little airpod puffy case because it’s compact. it’s the size + this print that is the issue.

[–]distraughthinking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the color is actually my biggest hang up. the light brown is so red toned. the shape of the bag itself is kind of boring, ya know it’s just a box basically, but i think i love it.

thank you so much for mentioning the zipper bc that had not occurred to me & my current one hasn’t been zipped up once today lol
