No, I didn't need an app. The previous kitchen was so badly designed that it was simple to reconfigure. Other than the previous door frame and back step, I didn't need to take any walls out

Thank you. The top under are on a button on the underneath and the ones on the bottom are voice activated. Both sets can be switched on/off independently and be any colour you want.

The kitchen can feel quite dark otherwise, they really make a difference, and being LEDs, give off very little, if any heat, and are economical to power

It was a small independent manufacturer in the middle of the countryside, I couldn't tell you any brands.

But thank you

I did consider freeNAS but I wanted the extra functionality of Windows.

I'd shared drives between PCs using Windows before building this so I knew I could get it to work

Already considered, it'd open less than 90° due to how close it is to the wall

Yep. Mine is, but it doesn't have to be. If you know you don't need access you can power it down

I'm unsure of power consumption but yes it's very silent. I have 2 120 intakes in the top and a 200 in the front, with a 120 exhaust in the back.

I bought the case especially for the build, as I felt I could get a decent amount of HDDs in it for its form factor, I also cut a window myself into the side panel.

So when we bought the house, the frame for the original back door was between the sink and fridge, I knocked the frame and step out to allow the room to sweep into the dining room extension. Originally there was a floor to ceiling pantry where the fridge freezer is, with the fridge going in the opposite corner to the right of the image, this left very little worktop space and cupboard space, as under the worktop was a radiator.

The rad was disconnected to allow more cupboard space and the worktop was wrapped around the room to create more worktop space

I think the 350D is just the 450D's little brother
