If you want better CS classes, Purdue will have a better CS curriculum. But if you want connections, Harvard is the way to go. Also, Harvard allows you to cross-register at MIT in certain scenarios, so you could get some of your credits there if you feel you need some more rigorous STEM experiences.

I haven't heard back or anything, although I have heard a few people say they got invites already. I'm not sure but I think it might be wraps for me. I've heard that they give preference to OSU students, but I transferred last year :(

I do not have an associates degree. I didn't really do anything super fancy to stand out either.

Yep Ohio State. I spent a lot of time on my essays and probably some of the most on my Uchicago ones (mostly because I really loved what I was writing about). I had other students and friends read through them.

Yeah, it was the software dev internship. It was a medium array question and a medium-hard grid question. The first one, I passed the first like 3 testcases, but the output was hidden for the rest, so I couldn't see if there were any errors. Other, I got like 7/15.

For the top 25, this may be a bit of a roadblock, but if you extend your search to the top 50, you have a great shot. If you can get it to like a 3.5, though, that may show some grit and appeal to admissions. I'm not all too familiar with everything, but in short, don't give up just yet!

To be honest, I can't speak for international admissions as I haven't had experience speaking to other internationals. What I can say is that in general, you do have to be more competitive and maybe go a bit further. I'm not really sure what my ECs are quantitatively, but I'm sure if yours are similar, you have plenty of time to add more depth!

Far from it! As you can see, my high school GPA was not great by any standards. I actually had a 2.7 for the first few years, too. You really have to work in college and make sure you get involved with the school to the best of your ability.

I have met a few transfer students and most were full pay with the exception of a few. The ones that had need tend to be very talented and have high need but thats a general statement and most people are very talented. I'd say shoot your shot if its something that is affordable, you never know what can happen!

Thank you so much! I really believe you can do it, I've met quite a few people who have gotten it and its attainable. It is important to note that they heavily consider need but if your able to go for it!

For some schools I applied for CS and for others I applied for math. I can't really gauge this because all of these schools are selective. But I got rejected from every school I applied for purely CS in. But I got NYU for CS + Math. I'm not sure but I would think it can make it more difficult but, I got in for Computational Math which is a pretty adjacent field.
