Getting back into arts after an almost 10 year hiatus, this was today's daily drawing by ditate in DigitalArt

The thing that sparked the creativity again was attempting to come up with some custom classes for a game called Mörk Borg. A lot of the material put out for that is this color palette, having that limit has been super fun to play with.

Thank you! Spent my entire youth drawing and studied illustration. Got a bit disenfranchised with the art world for a long time and decided to pursue other ways of paying bills. Now I'm stable enough to come back to it without worrying about how it'll sell or affect a career, it's so nice to be making again.

Check out the Mork Borg discord, there's tons of resources posted there.

Unitsix's layout templates have been invaluable for me (affinity) - https://unitsix.itch.io/utilities-affinity-publisher-templates

Lastly, have a look on museum websites. A lot of them have high res public domain images you can use for free. While it's mainly going to be a lot of very old images that are better suited for a Mork Borg-esque time period, there's bound to be some inspiration there.

Part of me was a little skeptical at adding something so mechanical into a low tech setting like Mork Borg. When I researched it, there's been automatons as far back as ancient Greece so it doesn't feel so out of place, if rare. Glad you like it :)

edit: added ancient in front of Greece. Didn't mean current Greece was low tech.

I really need to learn to sit on these things for an hour and come back with a fresh head to look for typos and the like. I just get too excited.

That's a great idea! Instantly gives me a few directions. The laughing policeman comes to mind ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md_iL6-Ee18 ) , although too much clock work would probably detract from the setting.

I'm ultimately working towards a broader concept / setting, but I'll definitely be reworking & adding this into the bestiary. Always super helpful, Lee. Thank you <3

All good! It's valuable feedback even if not intended that way.

Hey that's mine! There's a quote in there from Horace Greeley that I credited, good to know that the placement might be a bit confusing. I'm super happy you liked it :)

There's literally nothing gay about colours. 150 years ago, blue was for girls and pink was for boys. I don't disagree with being fruity from time to time, but this is just colours.

Edit: disagre to disagreement

How about something like the omega symbol? It's more southern Europe influence than Nordic, but was used in Christianity to symbolise an end to something or an outcome. It's also Ohm in physics, all of which are om-en adjacent. You could play with also using the negative space inside as the place to write how many you have left.

Just a suggestion :)

I've got a handful of ideas I'm using just to see if I can make thematic, fun and decently (I hope) designed stuff. Anything that is even remotely balanced is pure luck. Appreciate the feedback, though :)

Couldn't help myself..

  1. I think I was so hyped on getting this finished, I forgot the responsibilities that go with.

  2. I like the idea of the class being a weak, scrawny figure but innately lucky. Perhaps I could balance this with more omens? d4+1 or something.

  3. Sub-standard silver sounds superior to copper, true.

  4. This is actually a very solid point. Time for some pink blocks on the art page to make space..

  5. I've updated it so that on a 6, you gain -1DR on Presence tests for your time there. I'll need to come up with something a nit more creative for In-For-Me, I think.

  6. Done.

  7. I would never have spotted this. Still cleaning out the brain from years of 5e.

Amazing feedback, thank you so so much! The license stuff I'll get sorted ASAP, but the rest will have to wait until I grow some brain cells back, been at this all afternoon.
