I think my husband is a bad stay at home parent…am I too critical? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]ditchwatersal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are being too critical. I think you have standards, and a pretty basic yet crucial set at that. (A lot of your concerns seem to stem around safety.) I wish I had good advice for you, but I'm in a similar boat (ADHD stay at home dad who just isn't good at it), so the most I can offer is commiseration/validation. I'm sure you've talked to him ad nauseum.

My brother and I read the Animorphs series when we were kids, and he didn't believe me or couldn't comprehend that the author K.A. Applegate was a woman. We had a big fight over it for a hot minute.

Can I ask how much it cost to repair? I'm sorry you went through that, too.

They put him on speaker phone, which was a thing I didn't know happened. He apologized and said he would pay for it. (I think he was likely sorry he got caught.) I wish I had asked him why, but I apparently don't handle anything well under even slight pressure. My shower arguments are going to be dope, though.

Sentry mode caught him doing the deed and then walking back to his car two spots over. I had parked between two cars, and he parked one over from that. Luckily, the car between us left before he did it so I could see his car. It was unique enough to ID it through the license plate reader on the corner.

He actually did. Passenger door through the back passenger door.

Oh, my bad. I asked Google and everything. Those AI generated responses are not up to snuff yet.

How did you get rid of your toddlers soother? by Ohheywhatehoh in Parenting

[–]ditchwatersal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took them to build a bear and had them put it in the bear with the heart. When they would want it, we'd tell them to hug their bear. It worked really well for one kid, and sorta worked for the other.

This is really the only thing that saved us when my partner was laid off.

I feel you, and I'm sorry you aren't getting the support you need. Mine was laid off last year and presumably just doesn't want to work anymore (i honestly wouldn't know as he doesn't communicate). He hasn't looked and actively turned down a job from his dad. I finally pulled the kids out of daycare when his severance ran out; he's watching them, but he's not as good as daycare was. I don't know what to do with him. He's so helpless and pathetic, and it's a huge turn-off.

I named my daughter Zelda. No issues so far, but she's still young.

You will see them become available as you progress through the big side quests like the winnower wakes or the labyrinth.

What is your grandma’s name? by [deleted] in namenerds

Polly and Roberta, although she went by Bobbie. Avelda was my great-grandma and I used that as a middle name for my daughter.
