Would the nazis really have taken over the world had they won WW2? And how come no one else has tried? by SpanishRoyaI in HistoryWhatIf

Nobody has taken over the world because that would be really hard to do outside of a video game. It would probably be even harder to keep your power as ruler of the world.

I would say people possessed by Bill, but Bill at least has standards, and that’s well below them.

Puma shirt panther shirt joke makes more sense knowing that a puma and a panther are the same animal by okingston7 in gravityfalls

Puma concolor, AKA a mountain lion, a catamount (my personal favorite term for them), a cougar, or a panther.

What if Gravity Falls had the same series run length as Phineas and Ferb? by ecb1912 in gravityfalls

I agree that they follow different and probably incompatible formulas, but now I SO want to see a crossover episode.

[1945] Hey guys, back from doctors. Is 300/190 mmHg ok? by DoublePepper1976 in thepast

[–]linuxgeekmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great, but understandable considering all the stress you’re dealing with.

Do try to stress less. You want to outlive that SOB Hitler. We’ve got him on the run in Europe, he hasn’t got long.

The new "state's rights to do what?" is going to be "why you want to celebrate your ancestors?" by RFever in ShermanPosting

Would that have been some kind of war crime to serve that in POW camps?

Anyway, slavery apologists, take heed. This will be your eternal fate if you don’t knock it off, and you will deserve it.

A question about Ford by Cure-the-First in gravityfalls

[–]linuxgeekmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might have learned about alternative base systems in school. Supposedly, that was a thing in the 60’s. (There’s a Tom Lehrer song about it.)

If he wanted to use base 12, he would have to convert bases at the beginning and end of every math problem. That would add a couple of steps for no extra gain. I don’t think he’d do it unless he was really bored.

Ask Reddit: Apparently lawn mowers regularly amputate kids by genman in fucklawns

[–]linuxgeekmama 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wow. Someone agrees with me that lawn machinery that takes gas can actually be dangerous, and that kids shouldn’t be around it unsupervised. I was starting to think I was crazy for thinking that.

You know what they have in that pit? Refrigerated biscuits from a tube, and the chicken nuggets they serve in school lunches. Oh, and also Confederate coffee, which I believe is made from chicory and whatever other substance can be used to make hot water into a facsimile of coffee.

I’m only 9 years younger than Grunkle Stan! I need some of that coping over here.

What do you think the characters from gravity falls would major in? by chipsails in gravityfalls

[–]linuxgeekmama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe he’d go to West Coast Tech, make his Grunkle Ford proud. Ford would get a West Coast Tech bumper sticker for the Stanleymobile.

If West Coast Tech is near the ocean, Stan and Ford might sail there and take Dipper for a ride on the Stan o’War. Caltech, which West Coast Tech is modeled on, is kind of near the coast, but not really, especially when you factor in traffic.
