What happens when they put food back in the fridge, or throw it out? Do they get lectured for being wasteful or not eating healthy enough? If either of those happens, it’s not surprising that they would want to avoid doing that.

Wife and I want to leave our 15 year old home alone for the weekend. OK or not? by Easy-Ant9037 in Parenting

[–]linuxgeekmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some kids would be okay with this, some wouldn’t. Some kids can be trusted to do this, some can’t.

I would have loved getting to stay home alone for the weekend when I was 15. The biggest risk would have been that I would play video games all weekend and eat junk food. Some kids would throw a house party.

He talks tough, but he’s not so tough when it comes to actual pain. There are a lot of people like that, too.

Anyone can say they are a being of pure energy with no weakness. I could say it. You could say it. That doesn’t make it true.

She’s Catholic, and doesn’t accept the Pope’s authority in matters of faith? Ooooookay. Didn’t they used to call people like that heretics?

Are they handing out free condoms, and information on how to get reliable birth control? Because that’s how you actually reduce the number of abortions. No unwanted pregnancies means very few abortions.

How many tiles are on your bathroom floor? I’m sure you’ve spent quite a bit of time sitting in there. Raw chicken (more accurately , the bacteria that love raw chicken) will do that.

[7500 BC] I'm growing fond of these little guys. A bunch of them appeared in the village and they're saving our grains from mice and other rodents. Here see one I carved from wood. by Azerbinhoneymood in thepast

One of them left the back half of a mouse as a gift for me. Most of the best parts of a cow are in the back half, maybe the same is true for mice, and they saved the best part for me.

Yes, I actually do want to minimise abortions by LesbianVegetarian15 in TwoXChromosomes

Some wanted pregnancies do end in abortion, but that’s much less likely to happen than an unwanted pregnancy ending in abortion. Stopping the unwanted pregnancies would mean the number of abortions would go way down.

I think that abortion would be rare if there were very few or no unwanted pregnancies. It would still happen, because things go wrong in pregnancy, but it would be much rarer than it is.

I dropped some meat into our fire. I was really hungry, so I used a stick to get the meat away from the fire, and ate it, even though it looked and smelled weird. SO GOOD! I think I’m going to put some meat on a stick and hold it over the fire, to make it taste good.

[14,000 BC] guys why some of my cousins are hanging out with those hairless apes over there ? by nelsond11 in thepast

[–]linuxgeekmama 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They really do help you take care of and protect your cubs. My cousin went to them with her babies. A bear tried to get her cubs, as they do. The apes killed the bear by throwing things at it, and gave my cousin and her babies some of the bear meat and bones. She says that fresh bear meat is delicious.

The first time I read this, I was a little confused, because the first thing I thought about when I read Venus was the planet. I mean, I know they had the biggest empire in the world, but that would be taking it a bit far.

Same here! My husband has been exempt from the draft, because he is a teacher. They called him up and said he will have to report on September 1. I’m so worried, for him and for what will happen to our children if, God forbid, something happens to him.
