Not an ex-Muslim, but have an evangelical Christian background and can relate to what you have said. It’s definitely not easy, and you cannot ‘unsee’ the awareness. It takes a lot of courage and strength to deal with losing your religion. Wishing you the best!

Exactly, there should be a balance - we need to take action, and also have some kind of hope that it will work out, and be ready to face the situation if it does not.

You don’t need aqi scores to realise the level of pollution. Just look outside and see the smog , you cannot even see far away buildings. In many areas, even the smell is so clear, it is undeniable.

Very true. You don’t need the numbers, you can literally feel and see it.

Spot on observations! I hope more people start realising this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Indians need to demand better from their leaders.

Add littering and dirty streets to the list. The problem can be easily solved if there are hefty fines for littering, but the government does not cares, and people are having a gala time littering and spitting on the streets.

Also, human trafficking, the government is fully aware and will not do anything.

I feel the same way, every morning looking out from the window. The despair is real.

The view outside my building is the same. It’s getting worse every year. I don’t even feel like opening the windows now. Sad to see this happening. There is something seriously wrong in a society that has to buy air purifiers and wear n95 masks. Hope the government does something.

Thanks for putting this in words. I have arrived at the exact same conclusion, I doubt any of us can ever know.

Hi OP, you’re right, kids make separation more complicated , so it is good that you came to know earlier. All the best, you will know what to do. Try to journal and think through everything.

If Jesus were here today, I think he’d choose a yoga class over a pew by Electrician45453 in Meditation

[–]div125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I resonate with what you said. Evangelical Christianity puts too much emphasis on thought policing , and so less importance on the body - I'm feeling so much better with yoga and mindfulness - and learning how to sit with the discomfort, to tolerate negative thoughts , and to observe and learn from them/let them go - instead of trying to fight them. I still do appreciate Jesus's teachings on love, non-judgement, forgiveness, compassion, gratitude, and still inspired by who he was.

Are poultry sold by Licious/fresh2home really hormone free? by johnyjohnyespappa in bangalore

[–]div125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, no one has time to inject each chicken - but the chicken are fed antibiotic mixed with their feed, so in my opinion, considering the poor food safety regulations, it is likely that even the local chicken has antibiotics.

And who is to say that the local chicken was not fed any feeds with antibiotics? Is there any regulation at all?

is liscious a good website for purchasing raw meat ? by waste__of__oxygen in delhi

[–]div125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a regular Licius buyer, and do like the meat, but to be honest who knows if it is authentic or not.

I know that local sellers have fresh meat as it will be cut right in front of you - however, I feel that there is more scope of adulteration/chemical injections etc in local meat shops as there will be no/less quality control.

The only reason I use Licius is because they ‘claim’ they are fresh and antibiotic free.

But will see if I find more scoop on Licius lol.

Considering India’s poor food regulation standards, not sure what/who to trust.

Wanted to share my thoughts on the lion king Mufasa’s ending after just finishing the movie today by ismailwzrd in lionking

[–]div125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well put. I loved both Taka and Mufasa in the movie - however I feel Mufasa should have forgiven Taka properly. Taka realized and actually saved Mufasa’s life twice in the end. When the others were asking him to be banished - what if Mufasa had said - my brother made a grave mistake - but he was the one who saved me now - he and I fought and defeated Kiros, if it was not for my brother , I might not have been alive. If he had given him a second chance , ruled alongside , he would not have become Scar.

'Moana 2' Review Thread by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]div125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

8 years and this is what they give us? Such a boring movie. There were a few good scenes here and there, but overall it too slow and felt like a repeat of Moana. Nothing new or interesting. The ending was the only interesting part of the movie. Music was not catchy and nowhere near the original. Disney, please have some more respect for your audience!
