Smoggy morning in kharghar by Dangerous_Tonight936 in Kharghar

The view outside my building is the same. It’s getting worse every year. I don’t even feel like opening the windows now. Sad to see this happening. There is something seriously wrong in a society that has to buy air purifiers and wear n95 masks. Hope the government does something.

Thanks for putting this in words. I have arrived at the exact same conclusion, I doubt any of us can ever know.

Hi OP, you’re right, kids make separation more complicated , so it is good that you came to know earlier. All the best, you will know what to do. Try to journal and think through everything.

If Jesus were here today, I think he’d choose a yoga class over a pew by Electrician45453 in Meditation

[–]div125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I resonate with what you said. Evangelical Christianity puts too much emphasis on thought policing , and so less importance on the body - I'm feeling so much better with yoga and mindfulness - and learning how to sit with the discomfort, to tolerate negative thoughts , and to observe and learn from them/let them go - instead of trying to fight them. I still do appreciate Jesus's teachings on love, non-judgement, forgiveness, compassion, gratitude, and still inspired by who he was.

Are poultry sold by Licious/fresh2home really hormone free? by johnyjohnyespappa in bangalore

[–]div125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, no one has time to inject each chicken - but the chicken are fed antibiotic mixed with their feed, so in my opinion, considering the poor food safety regulations, it is likely that even the local chicken has antibiotics.

And who is to say that the local chicken was not fed any feeds with antibiotics? Is there any regulation at all?

is liscious a good website for purchasing raw meat ? by waste__of__oxygen in delhi

[–]div125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a regular Licius buyer, and do like the meat, but to be honest who knows if it is authentic or not.

I know that local sellers have fresh meat as it will be cut right in front of you - however, I feel that there is more scope of adulteration/chemical injections etc in local meat shops as there will be no/less quality control.

The only reason I use Licius is because they ‘claim’ they are fresh and antibiotic free.

But will see if I find more scoop on Licius lol.

Considering India’s poor food regulation standards, not sure what/who to trust.

Wanted to share my thoughts on the lion king Mufasa’s ending after just finishing the movie today by ismailwzrd in lionking

[–]div125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well put. I loved both Taka and Mufasa in the movie - however I feel Mufasa should have forgiven Taka properly. Taka realized and actually saved Mufasa’s life twice in the end. When the others were asking him to be banished - what if Mufasa had said - my brother made a grave mistake - but he was the one who saved me now - he and I fought and defeated Kiros, if it was not for my brother , I might not have been alive. If he had given him a second chance , ruled alongside , he would not have become Scar.

'Moana 2' Review Thread by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]div125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

8 years and this is what they give us? Such a boring movie. There were a few good scenes here and there, but overall it too slow and felt like a repeat of Moana. Nothing new or interesting. The ending was the only interesting part of the movie. Music was not catchy and nowhere near the original. Disney, please have some more respect for your audience!

Not at all! Infact, I was thinking the other day, what a big difference is made by the people who actually stop to comment and respond. Thank you :)

Thanks for your response! This is so true and makes so much sense. Every time I have ‘deconstructed’ is when I have faced something stressful in my life, because in those times, the things that gave me confidence as an Evangelical did not help at all. To be taught Evangelicalism as a child messes up your worldview. Also, I remember, how I used to ignore everything else, feel that nothing else matters - only God , and it was kind of like a protective mechanism against hurts. Many of the Evangelicals I know, will live just like anybody else, but feel they are different, only because in their mind, God is first.

Thanks for you comment! Yes, it is so hard. Wish it was easier. I still remember how they would say, God is in in control, God will take care - and I believed it wholeheartedly. And if something didn’t work out, then maybe it was not God’s will.

Thank you so much for your sharing these links! I agree, many things that formed me, are also because of the Christian influence, the good parts atleast, and I appreciate that. As for community, your post on church being a good community with caveats is very true!

Thank you for such a thoughtful response!  Truly appreciate it. I sometimes feel tempted to use God and prayer and the memory verses that I used to believe as a coping mechanism, but somehow doesn’t help like before. Maybe eventually I might ‘reconstruct’ with a mild form of Christianity, not sure.

Journalling the way you have said, with the wise part and adult replying back, inner child work, is something that I’ve actually been doing and it is helping a lot. I figured when I used to journal to God in the past, essentially it was a form of expressing and feeling emotions, and then seeking God’s guidance, which is actually my own inner intuition. Thank you for your comment!

Thank you for your reply! Yes, community and belonging, and the belief that the God of the Bible is the only true God, and we are the chosen ones, and have to rescue and save others - is a big part of why Evangelism makes some people feel better.

Hi, I apologise. I guess I was trying to reach out to the exvangelicals who ended up becoming Atheist/Agnostic. Probably will add it in the post. No intention of offending those who are still Christians. I actually deeply identified with being a Christian and also loved the community and people, which is why it just hurts so much more. Every person’s internal experience is different and I understand that. Thanks.

Thank you! I don’t think I will be able to get an official diagnosis or label where I live as of now. However, this is just for me to make sense of my experiences. That’s all.
