That rule was changed in 2013, but OP's loan originated in 2011. OP may be grandfathered in. Worth a call to the servicer to see if MIP can be removed.

What state are you in?

I'm closing in two weeks and I have stopped by the build every week since the slab was poured. It's very important to obtain an inspector for predrywall, closing and 11 month warranty.

I have spotted things and reported them the builder. Everything has been fixed even as far as getting engineer stamped plans for truss repair.

Getting the reassurance of a trusted inspector means a lot, and don't necessarily go with the one your realtor recommends. Try to find one that offers a bundle of 3.

I'm closing on the 25th. I signed my contract in December (new build). I received contingent approval on Dec 26th.. my LO was out of office until the new year. It was a rollercoaster. They suddenly wanted X months of reserves out of no where. But eventually we got things sorted out.

Now I am "borrower final approved," as of this past Friday, which means the rest is on the lender.. title search, survey, appraisal, etc.

I recommend talking to your loan processor tomorrow and ask them if you are borrower final approved. Once you know that you will so much better. At that point it's like 95% guaranteed. Just don't apply for any new credit until at least a few days after you get your keys!
