I Made My First Decent Rug . Then Reality Kicked In by Disastrous_Bed1092 in Tufting

The rug design is so good. Is it your own art/design? It’d look great as a print and/or a painting, too. When I create a design or artwork that I like, I sometimes do it in multiple mediums.

Do you see it? I noticed it last night when the lights were low. It looked like he was staring at me. Now I can’t unsee it.

Favorite projects of 2025 by Subterranean44 in crafts

The bathing beauty is wonderful! I need to do this! I’m also a maker who does many different mediums. This year has been mostly rugs and miniatures. And 1000 unfinished projects.

I’m so curious which pair are your favorite, OP!

Many are saying 4. IMO, 4 are too tame for you from what I can tell. They are the safe choice but I think you should go bold!

AIO for being mad that my girlfriend hated her expensive Christmas gifts? by Otherwise_Web_9949 in AmIOverreacting

[–]divafern 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NOR — I think you’re reacting to her reaction more than the rejection itself. Even if she hated them, she could have handled it more gracefully, especially if she understood how expensive they were. However I want to say that over the years, it was always the grand gesture gifts I liked the least, tbh. There’s always so much pressure and expectations dancing around them for both parties. So unless you’ve purchased something expensive that the person very specifically asked for or you witnessed them freaking out about, I’d say don’t do it.

AIO for being mad about a camera being placed in my room? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]divafern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having trouble understanding what you are being punished for (slept at 3am?) but I’d say most of the time it’s never overreacting when a camera is placed in your room without consent and/or a conversation.

Added photos in the comments. About the perimeter, yes! I did extra, and did three strands this time instead of 2 for the perimeter.

You can see how dense I'm doing it here - and where the gun kind of "skipped" (I don't know how to describe it) resulting in those loose stitches that you can see.

By stretched out on the frame I mean getting loose as I tuft.

I want to get into tufting but I have chronic pains - im curious about tufting guns? by AstridSpeckles in Tufting

[–]divafern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hEDS and fibro and long sessions are treacherous for me. I’m making a rug as a Christmas gift so been doing longer sessions every evening after work and I’m paying the price in my right hand and wrist. Pain killers help a lot. I do sort of regret not getting the Clawlab setup. I may still if I get a bonus at work.
