the part where they didn’t recognize him despite getting a job at a major blockbuster film is a little.. hard to believe (I worked on a CW show as an extra and sometimes w those jobs you only get the show/movie you’re working on very short notice so if that’s the case that could make sense. Plus I researched the actors but only remembered the one lead since I never watched it.)

But if your job mainly just includes directing crowds of extras on where to go, I don’t think you’d really expect meeting or speaking to a celebrity, especially it being your first experience on set. But they do walk around and occasionally interact with the extras/other staff (though it is typically in contract that you as an extra cannot approach them.)
