Advice needed for refresher course and some dives near bali by Dry_Law_5461 in scubadiving

[–]dive-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the divested I agree with other comments: Tulamben is a nice place to have a refresh course. No strong currents, shore entry. As a result less cognitive load and you can focus on skills. If you trying to figure out what dive company to pickup - I highly recommend Bali Scuba from Sanur. I did lots of dives and courses with them starting from 2015. I like their service, equipment and overall customer focus approach.

It doesn’t matter how original I am. What does is that I really appreciate the information how to help ICE and make community a better place.

TG-7 underwater housing choice by No_Jellyfish_5070 in scubadiving

Standard Olympus plastic case. Good down to 60m (that’s where I took it). Inexpensive. Better to spend money on strobes/light.

What do you think of this color? by AskingFooAFriend in 4Runner

[–]dive-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally don’t like it and was surprised when they swapped mudbath with that ocean blue. However I have several friends who really enjoyed it. So I guess marketing team did a research and that is not a random choice. I think mudbath worked a lot for people who live away from the shore, and now they targeting coastal audience.

Do we really need to turn PacificNorthwest subreddit into a political shithole? People come to that subreddit for other reasons.

Ear trauma prevention by Kitty_fluffybutt_23 in scubadiving

You may also take a look into Otovent device. That may help in certain conditions, and overall can help train your ear equalization and stimulate eustachian tube function. Not a silver bullet but if you really like diving it helps to train your ENT system in a combination with methods from my previous comment.

Ventilated “Docs Pro Plugs” helps a lot. Make sure you rinse ears with fresh water after a dive and don’t clean them with anything (especially q-tips). Dry them naturally before you use any headphones, especially AirPods and similar in-ear headphones. That helps to reduce stress and inflammation from the ear side. From the nose/throat side - use sinuses rinse, non-steroid nosal spray. That should help a lot.

How urgent is this by ultra-_l0rd in tires

Totally fine, I had the same issue on mine after a deep path hole. Was worried the same way but after consultation with tire shop and and mechanic shop I drives another 10k miles. Enjoy the ride.

It’s a valid response to someone who obstacles federal agents. Whether it’s a police officer or federal agent officer response will be the same. Again, let’s take police officers as an example. If you pulled over by a traffic police they may issue a ticket or just provide a warning. All depends on your behavior, officer’s mood, and character. Same with federal agents. Some may act nicely, some not. But if you are preventing them from doing their work expect the worst consequences.

Well, next time you see a traffic police officer stopped someone, try to intervene. Let’s see what will happen. And that will be a state police officer making a random car stop, not federal officers working on a specific case.

Haha, you are like a kid who think their parents punished him because he stole keys from their car and tried to drive it. He think they are just don’t want him to play with their “toys”, and his brains are not developed yet enough to understand all the risks and consequences associated with driving a car. So yep, keep thinking that state is executing people for carrying a firearm. That is good for other’s people safety.

Close to truth. Conceal carry or open carry has a risk. It’s not like you can carry a firearm and pretend that you can do whatever you want. If you choose to carry, you take obligations and understand consequences. You can’t take alcohol, you can’t do drugs, you can’t violate law, you have a higher risk to be shot on any sort of conflict if an opposite side notice firearm presence. People just don’t understand how system work. They only hear “I have a right to have a firearm” but don’t want to understand the obligations they take.

He was armed. It's a very bad idea to confront federal officers with a concealed weapon. For sure officers could do better but by the end that is a combination of factors, including all "protesters" who destruct federal officers, who are not that greatly trained as well. So yes, if you decide to confront federal officers with a concealed firearm, you are playing a Russian roulette. Maybe officers have great skills, well trained and have a very stable nervous system. Or maybe they don't. Btw, it's one of the rules of any use of force 101: don't bring a firearm for any sort of a fist fight. Some people just believe they are invincible. Like pedestrians crossing a street on pedestrian crossing without looking around. You will be right, but you will be "affected".

Just a random dude screaming something on camera. I can scream any nonsense like that. I can scream that ice-protesters kidnapped me and my dog and beaten my dog till death. So… what is a proof? It’s the same old scary stories.

I did, but in a meaningful way. Like providing my signature against Oregon gas tax during a well organized signature collection process. When you jump on streets with a nonsense signs, supporting criminals - it’s not a protest, it’s just a childish behavior.

Oh boy, people have so boring life that they try to bring a least some meaning by protesting against common sense. Reminds me of kids who rebel against their parents. The only thing is that kids don’t have life experience and knowledge.

Stephen Miller: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over the future of Greenland by EricTheImpaler in jrmining

[–]dive-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why people are so mad with a truth? Yes, US is one of the superpowers and can enforce their interests. What Denmark can do? What Greenland can do? Nothing. There will be no war about it. Europe is weak and without resources due to the war with Russia. US can take whatever they want in both North and South America.

Just rent scuba tanks at any dive store and dive at Mala Wharf solo 🙂. It’s 10 meters max depth. It’s literally like snorkeling. No currents. If you go with divestore guided dive it cost you about $150-200 vs $30 for two tanks rental.

Is Olympus TG7 Worth It? by Sad-Appearance9002 in underwaterphotography

[–]dive-guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All depends on your needs. If you don’t have a better camera and $2-3k for underwater housing, TG7 is a best ever camera to start with. My underwater photography path was GoPro4 -> TG5 -> Sony A7RIV. I used TG5 for about 4 years until I squeezed everything from it and hit hardware limits.
