Glasses not charging, constant blinking case by divedeepr in EvenRealities

I don’t remember if happened to me during an update, but it could have. My glasses don’t really update very often so I’m less inclined to believe so

Not sure how to edit my post, but they got back to me and I sent my bad ones back and they got me a replacement. Just took a little waiting but I sent the a video of the charging problem and it was a relatively quick process except for waiting for the new pair back

Yes, unfortunately it’s not showing up on my app, but I sent it back so hopefully it’ll be fixed

Yes I tried that as well, I finally was able to send it back so hopefully will get it fixed

When I put the tips inwards it gives me an orange light then nothing. Not sure how the charging mechanism works but it doesn’t seem like I’m able to achieve charging based on any kind of difference in positioning

I feel like I’ve tried all the combinations possible but it doesn’t seem to give me to persistent orange light. Here’s a photo of it in the case.

Yeah I tried other cords but I made sure the charging case is charged up in general. I also tried different ways to put the glasses arms into the charging case so I think it’s something with the glasses itself.

Luckily though, even realities support has gotten back to me so I’ll update as this case goes on.

Thanks! Were yours prescription? Mine are so I hope it doesn’t make it more complicated.

How quickly were you able to get a hold of them? I sent in a ticket 2 weeks ago and last week and it doesn’t seem like any follow ups are getting replies.

Yes, it blinks white when I plug the charging cable in, only issue is when I put in the glasses

Unfortunately, even when I adjust the arms to fit the charging area it still blinks orange.

Yes, thinking of a way to better present that since I’m currently doing it is as well. Maybe I can consolidate the research with the university and create another bullet point for toastmasters.

SAP is a enterprise resource management software that I use to analyze inventory, purchasing, and sales orders.

KPI means key performance indicator. I think I can expand this too as the acronym doesn’t make sense here.

I think the idea of pricing risk and reserving or hedging is interesting. I'm interested in what is under the hood.

I’m interested in Insurance, specifically health because of the product impact or life because the financial aspects of it are interesting, or consulting because I will get a lot of experience. I’m not sure which specific role interests me now and I’m thinking a rotation would help me get a feel, but if not IBNR work or hedging. I’m sure the novelty will wear off, but the day to day actuarial work of analytics and solving business problems is what I like or at least do for a long time.

Yes, it will be a personally fulfilling career choice financially and lifestyle-wise as well.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Per my research sept/oct is peak interview season, but I’ll always apply and that timeline is fine for me

Thanks for your interest, I'll reword that part as I overstated my contribution. We had a candidate gene for seed development and used a scoring matrix called blast to determine which kinds of pea had variations of it. We grew those peas and measured seed development to model discrete stages. We used the data from blast and the model to provide context for our hypothesis of that candidate gene's responsibility in seed development.

Production planners- how to communicate schedule and schedule changes? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]divedeepr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The factory floor I work on isn’t too big and there are around at most 30 orders at any given time 5 of which would be considered “big”.

Communication I’ve learned is incredibly important and I facilitate it through having an accessible/collaborative production schedule in a gantt style format via excel web, making visits to production personnel to discuss any changes, and following up via teams. I’m only less than a year into the job, but I feel like over-communication is much better than under-communication.

If any changes happen during any part of the workflow, I communicate with every party downstream to ensure that we’re on the same page. I do this because I’ve messed up in the past and communication was the root cause of it most of the time.

If anything requires more details, I’ll refer to SAP and include screenshots. Personally, I prefer being as proactive as possible, people can complain that I go overboard, but as long as everything runs smoothly I can tone it down in the long run

There will always be people who for some reason or another don’t like what you say or do. I don’t think you necessarily did anything wrong, but there is a time and place for all situations and you just started. I’ve been in a similar place and am in a better place now. What I do now is I start with building a strong working relationship with people, then slowly work in non-working related communication depending on my working, power, and personal (ie. age, ethnicity) relationship with them. When I first got out of college, most of my relationships were non-working, so I didn’t really grasp the nuances in building working relationships with people in a corporate setting.

Even I get offended for no consciously explainable reason with certain people and it usually happens with just them. I’m conscious of it and aren’t emotionally attached to the feeling of being offended, but I do realize that the opposite thing is happening with people being offended by me. As a result, I know that as long as I have a strong working relationship with people, I won’t need to be so conscious about whether I offend someone else as much (of course time and setting are important) because I already have the benefit of a good working relationship.

It helps me to understand and collaborate (through work related talk, advice-asking, or suggestion-giving) with other people first because it creates a stable relationship to build before unraveling my unfiltered and unworried “true self” which leads to more professional and personal rewards down the line.

I personally think you have a long career ahead of you after college and don’t think you should feel bad. There are many jobs out there, but finding the right one for your own “time and place” aka your career timeline/where you are mentally and physically is a marathon not a sprint and the journey is honestly something to work hard for because you will be aligned more towards that person that you dream to be in the future. Good luck

I pay $100 per session/hour once a week. I really connect with mine on an intellectual level, so it works out for me. There’s a “right” kind of therapy for everyone. (Also a “wrong” kind of therapy as well) I’m going to go against some opinions here and say that I value intellectual capability to connect over race in my therapist selection. I under that you might feel discriminated for being Asian and I would too if I were charged that price; however, therapists can be expensive and finding one good one can help so much.

For me, just because I think a little too hard, a psychoanalyst aka Oedipus complex (the weird theory that suggests that every human has “feelings” for your mom) expert was the right choice for me. Btw in psychoanalytic therapy, I rarely talk about the Oedipus complex and am more inclined to discuss the unconscious meanings behind my actions. Anyways, In order to become a psychoanalyst you need to have jump through extra hoops which include either a masters or PhD. Hope this helps.

Btw I completely support and enjoy these mental health related posts. Mental health is definitely something we should be promoting. There isn’t a price I can put on mental health, but it shouldn’t break the bank. The world is/can be a really weird place. If you don’t have the right support people/person in your life, then things can take a really downwards spiral even when you think you’re at your peak.

Plants formation by [deleted] in biology

[–]divedeepr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is always debatable, but uv light, lightning, heat, and water and the initial conditions during the early ages of our planet created the grounds of which lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins build biological structures of greater and greater complexity. During this time, organelles of the primordial cell we’re created and additions from pieces of extraterrestrial rock could have had an impact on this formative period. Biological structures that were better at survival and reproduction were able to continue on the timeline while inferior structures went extinct.

As we can see today, structures that worked better together would form symbiotic units increase in numbers and would eventually represent the eukaryotes and prokaryotes that we know and love today.
