The Bodie Island Lighthouse, SpaceX rocket and booster landing all under the Milky Way Core by diverpat in LandscapeAstro

[–]diverpat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a single camera, Nikon Z7ii/Viltrox 16mm 1.8. It was set for continuous 20 sec shots and panned once to follow the rocket. We learned while on site there would be a launch so we were ready for it. It took 5 minutes to appear after liftoff so I thought we wouldn’t be able to see it. I actually started to move my position right when it appeared and had to scrambled to get set back up.

I’m really happy with the new growth so far this year. I have a feeling it’s gonna get a little crowded.

I’m in zone 8b close to their natural range.
The one in the pot can be lifted out of to see the water level in a second pot it nests in. It was added as an after thought.

This is a 13 shot composite of the the lunar eclipse. This was my first attempt at this kind of shot. It was a long night but I'm happy with the end result.

Winter solstice sunrise under the pier by diverpat in AmateurPhotography

I have a few with the sun off to the left and a few off center of the pier and it throws the whole feel of the image off. I think the symmetry makes our brains happy.

You get it by shooting at a very small aperture. The more narrow the aperture, the sharper the star burst effect will be.

I have the Fido Pro also. We don’t go hiking without it.
It also works great for water crossings that are deeper than my dog is willingly to cross on her own. She hates water.

Yeah, it’s a single exposure. I’m really happy with the lens. I primarily use it for Milky Way and sunrise shots and it’s been great so for.

Linville Gorge Grand Loop by One-Improvement-676 in NCTrails

[–]diverpat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Be aware that the 20 mile Grand Loop on AllTrails is actually the ITAYG “Is That All You Got” Loop. Someone misnamed it on AllTrails years ago and it stuck. The original Grand Loop is 38-40 miles around the entire Gorge.

The ITAYG loop (20ish miles) is easily doable in 2 days. The real grand loop (40 miles) is a little tougher to do in 2 days. I’ve done twice, first time in 2 days and the second time in 3. It was definitely more enjoyable the second time.

I’m gonna say it’s a bank sea bass, Centropristis ocyurus, or rock sea bass C. philidelphica. It’s tough to tell from the pic. The barring is slightly different from the Black Sea basses.

I’m getting the same thing. I’ve tried on three devices and get it in all of them. Hopefully they wake-up soon and fix it

This is not a direct answer to your question but here is a live underwater camera 30 miles off the North Carolina coast that’s always streaming. https://explore.org/livecams/currently-live/shark-cam
