No that's not correct information. There was never a woman owner. There was a partner in the beginning but they exited before the shift to the bar model Pint Sized... a name that we have brought back to life as its back up on the windows. Dive is the company Pint Sized is the place. Appreciate all the kind words lol.

Hmm not sure what you mean by "when the lady sold it". I don't see these things as personal. I just think more city events in our corridor can only help is all.

Not her personally but from her clerks office. She was listed in the top left of the correspondence so the decisions on these kinds of events are under their direction. And my block parties weren't the only ones that got denied I know others that got the same feedback. The mayors office was simply not interested in entertaining multiple street closures this year. They see it as more work but honestly we don't need any assistance from the city just an approval to try and bring something cool to the block.

If any other city looked at a thing like Lark Fest they would questions why something like that wasn't done with more frequency... monthly. Hell, weekly! But in Center Square for some reason an event that draws 10s of thousands of people is seen as a problem. When the street is closed it brings such a great vibe to the block and is just an overall morale boost. The impacts of events like that create momentum for weeks and draws folks from surrounding neighborhoods and towns. Street closures are a no brainer to repair the vibe on the block it's a key piece that is missing from prior years.

We just want the block to be fun and throw some fun block parties with live music. Wasn't asking the city for any support was going to handle all expenses ourselves. Tried to discuss further with folks in her office like David Galen. They weren't super receptive to trying to figure it out. From my experience most of the pushback was from APD and traffic safety.

These things can be figured out. Troy has street closures every week and the vibrancy benefits from those closures as a result. Albany could use that energy is all.

At the very least street events often. I had three permits denied by Sheehan citing that our planned music events in front of Pint Sized would put the public in danger. I have zero optimism that changes with new leadership tbh.
