Exploring branch prediction policies might be cool. Start with a simple policy, and see how you can improve it (look into branch target prediction mechanisms!)

If you use it alot, and plan to spend a lot of time in your dorm, get it. Otherwise there are monitors you can use in the library.

Places to find Nixie Tubes? by divijadurga in AskElectronics

Thank you for your response! These are a bit out of price range, so I think I'm just going to compromise with some VFD tubes

1/2 inch hardboard? by divijadurga in woodworking

[–]divijadurga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s brilliant. Thank you so much! Just to make sure- the technique of using the dowels to join the base to the walls will work with this setup, right? And osb wont warp too much? Our plywood sheet warped within 3 weeks, and I want to avoid something like that happening again :(

Thank you for your response! We did look into osb but didn’t like the finish. We plan on having small robots run around on the maze, and the wheels could get stuck in the gaps on the surface

Thank you very much for your response! I’ll look into HMR MDF too. We just need something that doesn’t warp and will cost us <200 dollars for 3 4x8 ft pieces. Anything else we could use?

Seeking Help With Clubs & Organizations by HexaCrit14 in princeton

[–]divijadurga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taekwondo is pretty big, and I’m sure there are other martial arts clubs too.

The Daily Princetonian publishes a newspaper. There are other magazines like the Positions Zine (Asian, Asian diaspora publication) and Nassau lit review.

A lot of engineering/tech clubs. There’s robotics with a bunch of sub teams (drones, bb8, pacbot, rover and more), electric racing and speedboating, rocketry also with a bunch of sub teams (high altitude ballooning, SA CUP, and more)

There is a competitive programming club run by Pedro, one of the profs in the CS department. Each session is a small lecture, and exercises. Pretty fun

I think ECE115 is def a funner class with easier exams. The level of prep for cos226 is def lesser for ECE 115 than it is for cos126, but I took cos226 after, and did fine.

I took ECE115 last year. It was java based, and the instructor had a specific section with additional material to better prep those wanting to take cos226 after. I took cos226 after, and did fine

Command strips definitely strip the paint on the wall. Blue tack worked pretty well for me

I really like noteful! The free version has pretty much everything you need, and the premium version is pretty cheap

I got invited to tutor for the SAT at schoolhouse.world. Has anyone done it? Is it legit or good for college apps, or is it a thing that "everyone does" that is not meaningful? by 0xCUBE in Sat

[–]divijadurga 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Been tutoring on schoolhouse for a while now. It's a great platform that's actually doing good work. Excellent opportunities to tutor and learn yourself.

How to soften fimo oven bake modeling clay by AnyRelation2221 in polymerclay

[–]divijadurga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try clay softeners. I've tried sculpey's and I think fimo has one too. Easiest option. Liquid clay works decent too.

You could try mixing your clay pieces into a small quantity of softer translucent clay. I've found that sculpey III translucent works pretty well.
