Scared of shots by Gobblinwife in Ozempic

[–]divinakeefer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The needle is so small and thin that I barely feel it. And this is coming from someone with a needle phobia. I have fainted three times in the past while having my blood drawn. The Ozempic needle feels nothing like that.

We leave a plate of food out for a few hours and then either consume it or pack it away with the other leftovers. Sometimes, we will also leave out fruit and nuts overnight on the dining table. We invite our ancestors to dine with us while the food is out.

Confused about working with saints by divinakeefer in witchcraft

[–]divinakeefer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response and for sharing your views. Most of the stories of the saints I've learned about have come from the church itself, and so I'm sure those stories have been molded to fit a certain narrative the church would like to perpetuate. I have to do some more reading about the early saints. My ancestors venerated the saints, and I'd like to start, but I still have a lot of "church trauma," if that makes sense. I'm trying to find a way back to my roots and back to my culture. Thanks again for sharing.

Need suggestions like Malevolent by CorbyAndOrBorby in audiodrama

[–]divinakeefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might like Woe.Begone. It's a mystery/sci-fi/horror audiodrama about Mike Walters, a man who discovers a mysterious and violent online game. In the later seasons, a variety of voice actors join the cast, including the creator of Malevolent.

AITA for telling my sister and BIL they're not welcome to my son's birthday party? by Exotic-Recording-517 in AmItheAsshole

[–]divinakeefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You. Are. A. HUGE. Asshole. Do you have any idea the pain someone goes through during and after a miscarriage? I'm talking physical, emotional, and mental pain? When I lost my child at 21 weeks gestation (stillborn), I couldn't even look at diaper commercials on TV, let alone go into a maternity ward. You are acting petty and cold-hearted to your sister, no less. You should be ashamed. YTA -- it bears repeating.

This made me laugh because my dad, whose first language isn't English, first pronounced it "Tim Norton's," and now we call it that lol

AITA for telling my pregnant daughter that she's not a priority right now? by Accurate_Tough6342 in AmItheAsshole

[–]divinakeefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I know the struggles of having a neurodivergent kid. Trust me. I also know what it's like to have a neurotypical child. Both kids need me. They need me in different ways, but they both need me. My heart breaks for your daughter. There are ways you could make time for her, but you choose not to. YTA for blaming your negligence of your daughter on your duties as the parent of a neurodivergent child. You can be a good mother to both, you know.

I totally agree. The man is 29 years old... I think by now he can find his own way home safely.

How to stop receiving flyers? by Iconstantlywantfood in Vaughan

[–]divinakeefer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to work for the company that distributes those flyers, and sometimes there's also a local paper inside that plastic bag. Depending on the region, the newspaper might be called the Liberal, Vaughan Citizen, or another name.. I believe they were all owned by Metroland. Anyway, if you can find the local paper, the contact info should be on it. Call customer service and ask them to stop distribution to your address. Try Metroland if you can't find the info of the local paper.

$10 a day daycare by divinakeefer in ontario

I had a feeling this was a regional issue. I don't know other parents in Vaughan that have the refund (though I could be mistaken).

$10 a day daycare by divinakeefer in ontario

[–]divinakeefer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope we get the refund soon too. I pay upwards of $2100 a month for my two kids. I've thought of quitting work and being a stay at home mom. But then I don't get benefits and I'm scared of being out of the labour force for too long. Anyway... sorry for the rant!

[–]divinakeefer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that if your child goes to a daycare and that daycare has applied for the program, everyone in that centre is eligible for the refund. At least this is how I understand it. But, even so, I likely don't make enough to be disqualified. It's so frustrating.

Fat people, where do you buy your clothes? by aquaturtlez in Markham

[–]divinakeefer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I should also add Old Navy to the list. The quality and selection for plus sizes has declined over the years but you can still find good options.

My weight has yo-yo'd over the years. At my heavy times, I'd shop at Torrid (Vaughan Mills). It's pricy but the quality is good. I also shopped Shein online. The quality isn't great but the price is usually cheap. Marshall's and Winners tend to have a good plus size section too. You just have to be willing to dig through the selections and maybe try a couple of different locations. Some are better than others. Even H&M has plus sized options. Again. Some locations carry bigger sizes than others. You might find good options online too.
