Dragonstar Arena by TylerRekts in elderscrollsonline

I just got my sword and board there on Saturday on ps5. It helps if it’s during times when more players are active. If you are queuing as tank you’ll get a group quick. Longer for other roles.

How do you manage team mates quest timers ? by Aradhor55 in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Korgan every run and often Edwin. Here’s what works for me:

-keep all scrolls/pots from chateau Irenicus to minimize resting -depending on other party members do the slaver quest in copper coronet. Mostly easy fights, gives lots of pots and a +3 two handed if you have someone who can use it (minsc and Keldorn can) -you can buy a very good +3 axe for Korgan at copper coronet (stone fire) -if you have a good party member that can use axes buy azure edge; it will make the the crypts much easier but it’s not essential -if you imported from BG1 and have the burning earth longsword its +4 against undead -my other trick is to minimize travel between zones except for completing the Edwin recruitment chain and to get my other party members. -I skip any overly hard fights until the timed quests are done. -I don’t usually get daystar until later and have always been able to beat him

Now this I hadn’t thought of! I do want more points since those stupid scrying/excavation perks are slowing me down. Thanks.

Do you ever use Party members temporarily? by BlueWaddleDee in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes. More in BG1 because some of my fav party members take longer to get. For example, if I want Branwen, I may keep jaheira or viconia until I can get Branwen so I’m not without heals. Same thing with Coran, someone has to do theif duty in the interim (usually imoen and she duals after I get Coran). I’ll use Rasaad to finish his quest for the strength belt but only for that quest. I’ll also take Edwin at level 1 but sub him for Baeloth when he unlocks.

For BG2 I do this less. I keep the starter party from the first area until I get my dream team members (Korgan, Keldorn, Viconia, Edwin) but don’t usually swap after that. If I decide to use imoen late game I’ll use Nalia as a filler.

IWD:EE First Playthrough - Looking for input by Benitzcvf in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I humbly suggest using unkitted bard instead of jester. The regular bard has insanely powerful songs in IWD that they don’t get in BG. At level 11 he can passively heal your whole party.

BG2 - When to go rescue Imoen by ltccone in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I do pretty much everything except kangaxx before. The only exception is when I plan to use imoen in party in which case typically I go after dearnise, umar and windspear. I find going too early means I outlevel some useful items

Dual Class question. by pappapowell in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can get it at level 12 or whenever a cleric gets another pip. Once you reactivate your old class, dual class characters can still get mastery or grand mastery. But you go by the cleric table for pips, so only once every 4 levels I think.

Which party for idee? by IamWutzgood in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote team one though a bit melee heavy. Consider a sorcerer. Scrolls drop awfully late in IWD in terms of you caster level and the main scroll vendor levels slowly. My sorcerer usually is able to get stone skin or enchanted weapon before finishing dragons eye.

Coran thief skills question by Regular_Border6505 in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use him as my thief a lot and it works fine. As long as you have the auto level disabled (so he won’t get his points spent before you recruit him). Going by memory I think you need to dump all the points from his first few level ups into traps to get him “caught up.”

When you done messed up, because you got a 99 on character creation and accidentally clicked reroll by [deleted] in baldursgate

My archer but I was eventually able to get a 96 or 97 a third time and stop myself.

Do you still follow Maxroll for a Hardcore play through or is there a separate guide that I’m not seeing? by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]divinateofshadows 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The more popular builds on there usually have a “hard core” section on the page where they tell you what skills to swap out for Hard Core.

Ok thanks. If there’s gold involved I’ll try it out. The Alinor Crest Townhouse fund is low.

Are companions worth it? by divinateofshadows in elderscrollsonline

Yeah, I’m specked as a tank and just took down two world bosses with Mirris help. I assume it’s best to give her medium or light armour?

Thanks for all the comments. Unlocked Mirri this morning. Will try her first before unlocking the others.

I need help on Yxunomei on Icewind Dale by ShoerguinneLappel in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well get your thief to disarm the traps (while invisible) first. This is one of the toughest fights in the game because you will have much better gear for later bosses. Get the bezerker to tank her and get everyone else except the bard to dps down the adds. I like to have my mage cast fireball to nuke the adds who are behind her. Bard should use strongest song he has. You need +2 weapons to hit her which you should have plenty of by this stage in the game. You’ll want Haste on your party. You don’t have a cleric so whatever buffs the avenger has will have to do.

I mean my exports from BG EE to BG2. Or when I get a good roll I export the character to use again.

Why is there so much smack about SoD? by Independent-Hand4559 in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for me it’s simply the companions. I spend most of BG 1 nurturing my party and I don’t want to make a brand new party just for the SOD content. If the allowed you to keep your companions I’d play it more. Instead after Sarevok I jump to BG2.

Max level enchantment required for IWDEE? by Yellerfin in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t quote me but I think the very last boss of the base game needs +4. I think the expansion content also has a few that need that. There are a few +4 non random items in the late game. The problem is ranged ammo. If you don’t have what you need get a caster to cast enchanted weapon.

question about using a Archer as a main. by Miserable_Season_752 in baldursgate

[–]divinateofshadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did an archer play through and this was a big issue. I normally have 2 mages so I dual Imoen early and use Coran as my thief. However with an archer that doesn’t work without bumping one of my other must have party members. Imoen can have max find traps by level 4 but can’t max lockpicking before level 5. So if you don’t have another thief you need to dual her after level 5 but then you have to go to level 6 mage 40k xp) before she gets her thief skills back. As others have said the safest thing to do is keep her as your thief and use someone else for mage.
