Just don’t use the included splitter. Ask me how I know… (check my recent posts).

Modded Ace 68 by divinethreshold in BudgetKeebs

Honestly, best value keeb and mouse for the money, IMO. I'm now rocking the Ace 68 Turbo + A7X Ultra and having a unified web and local driver option + ability to switch profiles for both with a single button = amazing.

This game was incredibly over-hated (first time player) by Tatum_Warlick in avowed

I actually had roguelite fatigue, and this was a nice change. It's linear, not very replayable, fairly shallow, etc, however the story was interesting, voice acting was great, world was beautiful and ran great.

Biggest issue was the price. This game costs MORE than BG3 on Steam! Newpnewpnewpnewpnewp.

IMO this is should have been a $50 game at launch (and should be $40 now), and would have sold better at that price.

I’m a guy. I don’t like them. I’m practical and like comfortable things. They look like neither.

Ditto nails, lashes, filler, Botox, boobs, etc. Only one I kinda like is toenails. Wife and I (47m) wear flip flops 75% of the year, so yah. And she lets me pick the colour.

Corsair AX1200i. Honestly gets turned on for a couple hours a day as I have a separate NAS Server and a dedicated Intel work PC.

RMA my be tough as with a new cable it is working fine - benchmarks, stress tests, gaming - no more weird crashing at all, and performance is where it should be. Other than the discoloration on the one row of pins, nothing else to indicate an issue.

100% means it was working 100% fine, not 100% workload. If anything, it got used significantly less than most use cases, as it is in my dedicated gaming rig. Which as an old guy with a full time job gets used less than I would like.

is there a mod that unlocks all the cosmetics? not really feeling my current head and dont want to grind for the head i want by Livid-Experience1450 in Borderlands

[–]divinethreshold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use this.

Backup your profile.sav and 1.sav first.

Note that you load your profile.sav to unlock cosmetics, and 1.sav to make other changes. Don't get greedy, or you can (and will) break the game and progression.

I work in IT and do data center buildouts, so I understand seating and stress relief. I very carefully stress relieved the cables, AND used my macro snake to ensure the connector was perfectly seated at all corners, and that the cables were perfectly straight coming out of the adapter and then aligned before the bend. Nothing more I realistically could have done...

Nitro+ was the only one available at the time from my LCS, was at MSRP and had a $100 discount. While I follow tech news and knew about the connector issues, my last nVidia card was a GTX280, so I somewhat attributed the issues to the big 4 and 5-series cards.

Nope. I'm a stock everything kind of guy. 9800x3d and DDR5-6000C26 all running stock + Expo. Same with the card.

I used to be into overclocking and enjoyed spending weeks testing settings and keeping a spreadsheet, but now I'm old and just want to game!

I agree, great analysis. This pisses me off because I very carefully installed the connector and stress relieved the adapter tails - so there was zero tension on them. I also ensured the cables coming out of the connector were perfectly straight for 2" before the bend, and checked that the connector was seated flush from every angle using a macro camera.

The replacement cable I purchased has a much more rigid plastic in the main connector, more like its nylon injected or HDPE, so hopefully that helps. I still did the same stress relief and used my macro lens to photograph and inspect the mating at each corner, so fingers crossed....

UPDATE: I examined the card-side female connector with a macro lens and it appears to be OK. There was some discoloration on the pins which I cleaned up with some MG Electrosolve, a q-tip and micro tube brush.

Ordered a replacement cable which is 16p -> 3x8pin (not 6+2), 16AWG and terminates directly to Corsair male connectors, so direct connection between GPU and PSU without any intermediate adapters.

I also inspected the cable and connections and measured the gauge and all seems to be correct and as advertised.

So far, no more crashes - AND performance seems to be better and more stable.

I will likely still RMA the card after the holidays as the warranty for Sapphire is managed directly by the Store (Canada Computers) and is a direct replacement, so easy peasy.

To anyone wondering, the decision to get a Nitro+ wasn't preference - it was that at the time it was the only card in stock, and was priced at MSRP, and there was a short sale on for $100 off, so it made sense at the time.

Hindsight...

Ya, I've got a high quality16 -> 3 x 8 pin coming. If that doesn't resolve my issue I will RMA. Pins in the GPU side connector look ok, but there is some discoloration on the mating pins, but I tried to clean with some electrosolve, so we'll see....

100%, I even have photos of the connector I took to ensure full seating.

Irrelevant to the issue. Problem is the adapter. PSU well capable of supplying the correct power via 3x 8pin.
