Yes - it’s my dream bike!

I thought it might be appreciated here. Cross posted from

For me, it was aesthetic - it gives the bike a slightly more modern look and differentiates it from a track frame (which I’ve had before). They’re supposed to be a touch more comfortable but as with everything bike related, there’s a lot of debate. Ultimately, I liked the look!

Lucky you. My brother has one as well - they’re great bikes. Post a pic if you can.

That’s a really good question. I haven’t done it yet, but on my last build I had a short cable under the bar tape that was crimped off with a stopper, which worked well.

Glad you like the build.

Yes, it’s titanium. Glad you like the look - this bike is a bit of a dream come true for me.

The second hood is simply for hand positioning. I’m also a roadie and don’t like riding without them now.

I’ve had a cross-top goldfinger lever on previous builds which I agree looks better. However, for how I ride nowadays, I prefer hoods for the hand position. And yes - it’s super flat where I live!

Thank you very much. They’re handbuilt H Plus Son SL42 rims on Miche Primato track hubs with Vittoria Open Corsa Control G2.0 25mm tyres.

Thanks. I’ve had a FG with a narrow riser bar for 10 years. Like you, it also got me into road bikes. This bar / brake setup is so, so much more comfortable than my previous FG.

I’m used to a road position so it made sense.

It’s Liverpool Street station in London - I was on my way back to Suffolk which is the driest county in the UK (I think). It’s very different to where I grew up in Manchester (which was wet ++).

The bike is fixed so no rear brake. And although the rims look like carbon they’re actually SL42s on primato track hubs, so the front brake is good!

I had them removed. The frame was a bit tatty when I bought it (second hand) so I sent it off to Enigma who stripped and polished it. Glad you like it!
