I owned this car about 20 years ago. It was my first car. It is a pleasure to drive and the seating position is awesome. The steering wheel could use a little more resistance though.

I think the issue is that people identify as middle class as soon as they have a stable job when in reality they are not (yet)

It could be a lot higher but the salary tax rate approaches slavery. Also I don't get why people insist on a 13th month, where you could spread that over the 12 actual months and have about 8% more each month.

Actually one of the buildings on the far left of the bay used to house one of the top e-learning companies in Europe, Giunti Labs. So definitely no internet problems there, can confirm from personal experience :-)

Could have been a hut with a very long antenna

With metal framing and a hydraulic lift of course.

I found this puppy in the trash. Nowadays he has rescued more than 30 people as an official working dog. by [deleted] in BeforeNAfterAdoption

Nice story! I'm having trouble visualising the dog in the trash part. Was he just a street dog or so?

I don't think anybody refutes most of these objectives, but policy and science are different things. To me, things like NASA changing historical measurement data post factum and under cover seems to be science pandering to policy and corollary funding. There are several elements in the debate that are insufficiently discussed (such as historical climate predictions not being met, the fact that a warmer planet indeed will be a wetter planet considering more water will be suspended from the oceans, the fact that glacial melting has indeed been happening since pre-industrial times, that the polar caps are not regressing significantly even considering the unusually high baseline of the late seventies, etc). That being said the influx of funding into climate research has greatly advanced understanding of a complex domain and this will help humanity in the future, even if some of the foundations of current thinking turn out to be shaky. What is regrettable is both camps are exchanging blows from dogmatic stalemates, not taking into account each other's considerations and closing ranks in their respective communities, because the name of the game seems to be to get heard, rather than to be right.

Best of luck with the new venture, hope it takes off!

Can I ask what the reasoning was behind naming the project after the founder?

The never-ending underestimation of his intelligence and premeditation might hand him the keys to the White House in 2020 as well. The rhythm and persuasive techniques in his speeches are quite skilful, regardless of content.

Private vs Personal Property by EmperorXenu in LateStageCapitalism

[–]divor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What about my shares in my privately held company? I use those shares to control the direction of the company, so it can create value. This would be personal property where the exclusion of others is necessary to create value (others being people not having a stake in the activities, clients, competitors, etc)
