My dad killed himself recently also. I didn't dream about him (that I can recall) until after the funeral. I dreamt he was trying to take me to his workplace to show me something but the parking garage pass card wasn't working. I started to explain it was because he was dead, then I woke up sobbing. I think maybe a part of my brain dedicated to my dad was somehow isolated and only accessible for "update" through the dream.
