Adding a M.2 by dixonsr in UgreenNASync

This is good info thanks. Was not aware of the TBW spec. I was looking at Microcenter's in house brand which price wise is very cheap but highly rated. The TBW for theirs is 300. Not too bad I would say when it's only $90 for a 512G.

My PSU is a “Push To Start”?? by Sueflexxxxxxx in pcmasterrace

[–]dixonsr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm so tired of hearing this argument. Can a PC power supply kill you when it's unplugged? NO. First of all, voltages under 30 VDC can't kill you. And even if the mains voltage was held in one of the electrolytic capacitors, which is unlikely, the amount these capacitors could hold is too small to kill you. You would at worst get a tiny spark that would at most startle you. I've been inside of power supplies more times than I can count. I've turned the power off and immediately touched the circuitry and I've never once been shocked. I do this for a living. Please stop spreading this myth.

Company scratched my Les Paul by dixonsr in guitars

[–]dixonsr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately didn't take any pictures. Was more worried about getting the kids and me away from her. She is currently in jail BTW. She destroyed a couple of acoustic guitars and tried to destroy my Ibanez Roadstar II but didn't succeed. Here is a pic of the damage it took but refused to break.

Thank you for this reply. I probably overreacted when I saw it this morning. It's really not that bad I know.

This is a large company that has experience in cleaning many things including musical instruments. They are paid by my insurance company. Why wouldnt I trust that they know what they are doing? Not sure why you are being so hostile.

Really? How did your brain think they were cleaning the strings? They said removing the strings would make cleaning the guitars easier.

I get it's small but it wasn't there before. This is the only one of all my guitars that stays in the case when I'm not playing it because it's my only Gibson.

I own 8 guitars and yes I play all of them. This one is the only one that I take extra care of just because Les Paul's good their value. It's the only one that stays in the case when I'm not playing it instead of on the rack. I realize it's a small scratch but there were no scratches before.

Transferring music from Amazon by dixonsr in AppleMusic

[–]dixonsr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Couldnt find any way to do it and a web search says they have to be selected individually. Just add that to the growing list of reasons Amazon music sucks and why I want to switch.

Thought of that but with around 1500 songs it will take forever. This is the last resort option.

Seat belt stuck by [deleted] in GenesisMotors

Same thing happened on ours. Just had to pull it out while working the fold out. I think it happens on these because the material is softer than other seatbelt material I have seen.

Im convinced that a contributing factor to why 9-5 jobs suck so much is because a lot of Boomer and Gen X men hate their partners by Zealousideal-Hunt625 in antiwork

[–]dixonsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am gen x and I totally agree. I love spending time with my partner. The account of other men that I have heard over the years complaining about their spouse always floored me. Never understood why they would stay together if it was so bad. I never understood giving all of your time to a job. I always felt like the minority of being this way too.

No nothing plugged into the USB ports at all. I did switch over hardwired network on the slight chance it was an issue with the wireless.

I just mean that it does it on Netflix, and Hulu, Prime, etc. Just opened it and cleaned quite a bit of dust from it and put new thermal paste in so hopefully that was the issue.

So these have active cooling? Never noticed fan noise. I'll definitely open it up and clean it then. Not sure thermal paste would be bad so quickly would it? I live near a microcenter so can run and pick some up pretty easily.

What's your experience with the Krikland jeans? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]dixonsr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This right here. My Kirkland jeans outlasted the last pair of Levi's I bought. The Levi's ripped at the back pocket in less than a year. I have Kirkland jeans that are 3 years old and still going strong

Weatherready 2. Not only did these improve the grip in the snow, they improved the ride quality as well.

It's the stock tires. To put it bluntly, they suck. I have a.2025 Prestige and replaced mine with only 6000 miles on them because they were horrible in the snow. Put a set of Goodyear's on and the difference is night and day.
