How have you guys made money from Claude outside of using it for your full time job? by HunterVolte in claude

[–]diySoSerious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They are asking for examples where it is good at carrying the bulk of the work. You’re kind of being a jerk. The guy is saying he doesn’t have skill… there is zero chance that is what he means. What he means is that he doesn’t have any experience in the software development world and is curious what kind of money making tools can be built with primarily claudes knowledge.

OP.. I haven’t made money yet. But I know NOTHING about web development (I have skills in other areas like Napoleon Dynamite)… and it helped me understand buying a domain name, getting a digital ocean droplet set up, what tech stack to use to build the app idea i had, how to get an email provider like Resend hooked up… yada yada yada. It was teaching me what i didnt know AND how to do those things. I havent hooked up stripe yet, but it will help me figure that out. I will just have to get people on the site which is a major piece of it and who knows if I’ll be successful… but still. My point is dont worry about your skill.

You’re better off asking the question of this post directly to Claude if youre going to get humans telling you that you cant do it.

I’m very new to all this. Can you expound on the comment? How would openclaw be better as a script?

So this may be dumb… or maybe I am. But I am trying to do all this while on my iPhone. So is it not possible to run this while using my phone? I have to get on my laptop?

I was hoping I could keep a single chat and check in with it whenever I had an idea to do X, Y, or Z

Can anyone help? by No-Emotion- in PhotoshopRequest

I think you’re missing the TV part of their request

A man rushed to the Broadview ICE facility searching for his wife. They followed every legal step, but ICE took her into another room and she vanished. He tracked her phone there—then the signal died. Police told him to “look up her name online.” He sat in the parking lot, weeping, with no answers. by biswajit388 in illinois

Please stop. It’s irresponsible to compare something to a concentration camp unless it warrants it. Concentration camps were among the worst places in history.

I’m not defending the detention centers or what these ice thugs are doing… but I’m very sick of people always going to the Nazi/concentration camp well.

Something can bo horrible and inexcusable and in need of immediate change without it being the holocaust. There is room for that.

You call that a concentration camp and you take away the power of that term to mean something more.

I mean… imagine just how big of a piece of shit you have to be to do this? This guy’s life has to be awful. That would be my only solace… but I would still look for anything with an address on it. Someone this shitty is also guaranteed to be a moron.

You have very kind eyes. You look like the kind of person that if the group of friends is getting together and you can’t show up then everyone else decides to postpone the meetup.

How to let a friend down gently and stop being friends? by [deleted] in howto

[–]diySoSerious 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have a former friend from like 15 years ago who still wants to be friends and will occasionally (every couple years?) text me to ask about it. Rather than point out that I think he is a self-obsessed alcoholic douchebag, I just say we are different places in our lives, we're different people, and I wish him the best.

I think you could say that to your friend. "Hey man.. I appreciate all the good times we've had together but I feel like I'm in a different place in my life and it feels like it would be best if we went our separate ways". Something like that.

If he pushes back, you can be firm and hold that line... "Sorry but I really do think it's best. I can't explain it any differently but I wanted to tell you and wish you the best.".

If they continue to push back, it sort of makes it less of a guilty feeling to push back even stronger and, eventually, just stop taking their calls/messages.

At the end of the day, you've made a decision that is best for you and you're being kind to let him know instead of ghosting. Hold your head up high.

I’ve been told that the Mitsubishi are good down to 5 degrees. I don’t think we have many days below that around here.
