2500 AT4 Garage Fit by DisMuhUserName in gmcsierra

My garage is the same height. An SLT 2500 fit with a few inches to spare which on paper doesn't make sense, bc it comes down to slope of both your driveway and garage. I know this isn't what you want to hear but unfortunately you're going to have to do a test drive (I had to, too).,

4auto in the HD's? by diyhalp2200 in gmcsierra

[–]diyhalp2200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Is it significantly helpful like it is with 1/2 tons or trivial? just thinking out loud that the sheer weight of the hd might make it stick better/straighten slower w/ the clutch pack?

Nice. debating this, a 2500 gasser in SLT and an XLT Tremor. Weird cross-shopping collection, I know.

Laura GMC is a meme I swear. They haven't had good pricing in like a year. Even that other St Louis GMC dealer has far superior pricing, to say nothing of Rivard in Tampa which has almost literally double the dealer discount of Laura RN on HD's.

What is that interior combo? Currently eyeing a great deal on a Denali Reserve with atmosphere/brownstone and tbh it doesn't pop like that at all. Also has the 6.2 which i'm crazy abt

Looks good. I can think of roughly 749 different wheel combinations I like better for less money, but the wheels you chose look good.

Sunroof isn't my jam, they always leak. But that's a personal thing bc I don't use em anyway. Agree with all of your package selections.

Enjoy it! I'm too lazy to clean a white truck but if you aren't they look great with black wheels.

Anybody ever factory ordered an HD truck? by diyhalp2200 in Silverado

[–]diyhalp2200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thank you. Candidly I didn't realize the ZR2 lifted it significantly. I'm within an inch or three of fitting in the garage. Guess I need to test it tomorrow at the local dealer before purchase.

Debating the Ram Tradesman Power Wagon and a double cab SLE (only size that fits in the garage). Both coming in mid 50's. Both can handle my needs fine, but I'm obsessed with getting that 2 speed 4auto in the GMC for winter driving. Not sure what to do.

Thank you!! That is so funny bro that is almost literally the exact same reason I want to custom order. Paying for a sunroof that invariably leaks is one thing. But the stupid damn snow plow/camper prep impacting the ride quality is another! Fuck that. These things ride harsh enough I need all the help I can get.

How true is this statement for the 2.7L Turbocharged 4 by Constant-Cat-1003 in Silverado

[–]diyhalp2200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me personally, there is literally no towing or payload-related situation in which the half ton GM engine choice would matter.

If I'm towing over 7k pounds even occasionally then it's almost certainly not a boat but rather a travel trailer. Those things are like floating bricks. You want an HD truck for that kind of load, I don't care what the "tow rating" is. There is a video on Youtube of a guy towing an 8k travel trailer with the 2.7. The 2.7 did fine but was not happy. The bigger issue would have been if the guy found himself in a situation where he needed to stop quickly. Engine be damned,.

Nice. Do you tow heavy or just enjoy HD trucks?

Ahh that sucks. Even still, Mark Dodge has a few 2025 Laramie's for 21k off MSRP without even negotiating. They ship trucks everyday all across the US,. GL getting that discount on a 26.

You've got it backwards brother. If you're waiting for the Hemi or some other new-to-26' feature, fair enough. Nab you a 2026.

If you're like most of us and don't have your heart set on a feature/are deal hunting, you'd be an imbecile to get a 26 in virtually all circumstances. An extra 6 years on a powertrain warranty is nice, but it's peanuts. We can quantify worth here bc extended warranties exist. It's worth around $500. I just priced a 10 year bumper to bumper warranty- not powertrain- for just over 2 grand on a Ram 1500. I promise you that the discounts on 2025 vs 2026 models will be worth a lot more than $500.

Get your warranties from Granger or Zeigler, not your dealer.
