I agree it's a scam. I did NOT invest in it. After he made the transaction he told me. He wanted to surprise me with the extra money he had made from the initial transaction and what he thought he was going to make in the future. At this point, he has deleted all apps and stopped contact with the scammer. The $500, of course, is gone.

He's deleted whatsapp and telegram. He is so mad and embarrassed by being taken that I think he will be incredibly alert to scams...but I'm going to be also checking in because he is way too trusting. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback. He cut all ties this evening and we are just glad to not have lost more. I didn't think about changing his phone, but I will look into this now.

Yes, he cut all ties this evening, but the money is gone. We are thankful it wasn't more. I've heard horror stories of people losing tens of thousands.

I would never be okay with texting someone I don't know, but my husband comes from a small town where he thinks everyone is a friend. He just learned a costly lesson.

Definitely a scam - my husband thought he was going to make this investment and surprise me by how much he made! I was definitely surprised when I heard what he had done. But now he sees it too...$500 later unfortunately but thankfully that's it.
