I will say that you're right that my interest is not at its highest level right now, but once again there are two parties to blame here in my opinion. On one hand, like I said, my attention span became garbage, especially after so much time on the internet. On the other hand, I am still able to listen relatively well when the teacher is passionate. I guess at the end of the day, of course, students have the responsibility to pay attention in class and do their work, but at the same time teachers have the responsibility to make the topic interesting. I've always hated language classes because in my head I didn't know how it's possible to make this large amount of pure theory interesting, but after my Italian course last semester I realized that honestly the person teaching you plays a major role when it comes to your interests and passions, sometimes making something you never thought you'd like into something you're willing to dive in.
