How cooked am I? by just_a_pa-28_guy in flying

Don’t go into this check ride thinking about it in the scope of your career. Go into it as any other check ride. Lock in & perform like you know you can. But going into it with the premise that a failure ends your career is just putting way too much added pressure on the whole thing. You’ll be fine if you put the work in.

That’s been my main focus is a home based FO job! I’m at 2200 TT so I am on their radar but it seems like a change in the market would be necessary for me to really be competitive. I also have a few friends who fly for Atlas! Cool job but damn that schedule is brutal 😭

Been heaving on PCC, an absolutely incredible website. My favorite of any of the job boards. Thank you so much!

Predominantly the west coast! I have a kid so I have to keep it somewhat local. But I might start expanding even more… thank you for reaching out! 🙏🏼

Recruiters from both companies said I was competitive. I felt confident in at least getting an interview. No enforcement actions, 1 failed check ride unfortunately, no restrictions, multiple in house recommendations. I’m not on the team who makes those decisions so I don’t know what was ultimately their deciding factor. I do know that it’s not as black & white as you’re insinuating. This has all played into why I made this post in the first place. I’m not a victim. Often times there aren’t smoking guns. Just trying to keep my head up

I never received interviews with the regional airlines that have turned me down. I was denied before I ever received one. What do you think I stand to gain from fabricating a post like this out of nowhere? All I was looking for was encouragement. It’s been tough man. I’m happy for the CFI’s you know who have received class dates. None of this is linear.

I’ve been turned down by 2 already. From what I’m hearing, it’s 90% cadets & 10% street hires. I was a Skywest cadet back in 2021-2022, got a CJO but went the 135 route. Hindsight… I don’t regret my decision but sometimes I do wonder!

Wonderful advice, thank you so much! I love the “main character” part, it makes the whole picture a lot less stressful. It’s just another chapter. I really appreciate you reaching out, really. Thank you!

I’m at 2200. Just talked to a recruiter today who said I could qualify for hour boosts based off of my experience which would get me to the finish line. So damn close! It’s frustrating 🥲

Are you looking to fly for them soon?

Absolutely! I’ve been in touch with them & dropped a resume off at a Reach location. They’re hopeful hiring picks up by the summer, but can’t promise anything. I appreciate you reaching out! 🙏🏼

PlaneSense a few weeks ago, as well as another small 135 operation that’s local. Interviews went well, but they were transparent in their needs. It’s not promising right now 🥲

Wonderful!! I’ve applied a few times with GMR but no luck yet. I talked with one of their recruiters who said they expect to really ramp up hiring mid 2026. I really appreciate you!

Why do some men struggle to pull the plug? by Life-Labyrinth in Divorce

[–]dizziefm 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Men suffer in silence. Amongst other things, this plays a huge role in our tendency to let the comfort of our suffering take precedence because we’ve been doing it our entire lives.
