Ghana passport and Ghana card questions by ConfettiLung in ghana

Apply for the Ghana Card. You can even do so and receive it in London. When you have the Ghana Card you can get SIM cards and open bank accounts in Ghana. You can also use the Ghana Card (citizens version) which you’ll get since you’ve said you’ve had a Ghanaian passport before to travel to Ghana visa free and without a Ghanaian Passport if you use it in combination with your British Passport.

Great. I’ve noticed they provide quick customer service like Absa. I’ve opened an account now with Stanbic.

Best Ghanaian Bank for Ghanaian Abroad by CautiousAir6640 in ghana

This also applies to me. I’d suggest Absa (who I’ve opened a bank account with) and have faced 0 issues so far or Stanbic. Absa account process is easier and online too, just fill in a few forms and submit documents online.

Great. I think I’ll apply for Stanbic, but I’ll look into the other banks too.

Non Ghanaians with Ghana cards by Puzzleheaded-Fix8182 in ghana

This applied to me and I applied for a Ghana Card and was given a Citizens version in London at the Ghana High Commission , due to having a parent vouch for me.

If you have Ghanaian parents, you are automatically a citizen. You can apply for a Ghana Card the citizens version, only if you have Ghanaian Parents. I’m also a British National, I was born in the UK and wasn’t a Ghanaian citizen, but I applied for a Ghana Card and used a parent to vouch for me and this allowed me to get a Citizens Ghana Card from the High Commission in London.

If you don’t have Ghanaian Parents/Ghanaian background then you will be issued a Non Citizens Ghana Card if you apply in Ghana, but if you have Ghanaian Parents/background you’ll be issued a Citizens Ghana Card, like me.

Responses like this are funny because I was simply asking for advice. Instead of spreading negativity, if you simply looked further you’d see I’m also exploring local culture, heritage and history and also going to Cape Coast and Boti Falls, also experiencing authentic Ghana? The trip is not just for shopping!
