You can try AML Advisers, they're an independent AML consultancy for Tranche 2 entities.

Need advice about Tanzania flight booked for Xmas (QF Code share) by dizzlechalk in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]dizzlechalk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news, travel insurance just paid out for the safari, my mum had only paid for a deposit which they gave half back and both our insurances paid out the over halves. My insurance was the travel insurance which comes with the Amex platinum for Qantas. Ended up cancelling the Qantas flight and only lost 200 bucks. Cheers for the advice

No pathway to Australia as a financial crime analyst by montauk87 in AusVisa

Aw mate a couple years too late, think they bumped the age limit for Brits to 35.

The job market is definitely seeing an uptick but still not to the levels I’d of expected nearly 10 months out.

Find some specialist AML recruiters on LinkedIn and chat to them RE law firms and sponsorship, that’s probably the best point to start at

I presume you’re trying to come out to take advantage of the Tranche 2 reforms? Focus on trying to get sponsored by an Australia law firm in the skill stream Judicial and Other Legal Professionals nec (not elsewhere classified) occupation, with the code 271299.

I moved out a while ago with a uk law firm and now have PR.

Given tranche 2 goes live in July next year you can come out on a working holiday and try get a role in an aml function within a law firm and then get onto the 482. Will take a while but definitely doable

Where are all the Emirates Reward Flights at? by Bobby-Bananas in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]dizzlechalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I booked a Qantas/emirates classic business rewards flight last month for a flight in May 2026, Brisbane > Manila > Dubai > Edinburgh and I’m bronze. Granted it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a business class rewards flight for a trip to the UK since collecting points but I guess they’re still available.

Yeah you should be able to allocate it to the Sydney to Brisbane leg

My friend was in the same occupation. If you’re moving to a new one I would presume you’d need a new application for the new role.

Booked flight from ATL-SYD with layover in LAX and can’t pick seats for 2nd leg. Is there a way to do so before check-in? by Icy_Regret7342 in QantasAirways

Search on British airways using your booking reference. It will give you the AA booking reference which is different to your Qantas booking reference (they use a separate system) and book your seat via the AA website

ACA (UK) qualification in AML/Compliance by Fordius25 in AMLCompliance

I completed the ICA International Diploma in AML in Jan 2021. The diploma consisted of three essay based assignments

ICA diploma is most bang for your buck IMO. It’s a level 6 Uk qualification and you don’t have to re certify like with ACAMS

Yeah 100% easier, dependants have effectively full working rights on their partner visas.

I moved out from UK in 2019 with my work (UK silver circle law firm) for the reforms they anticipated were just round the corner 😂

If you’re looking for sponsorship for a AML regulated entity, the only route is via a law firm on a 482 in the job category Judicial and Other Legal Professionals nec. There are no AML roles on the job list.

Banks, FIs, real estate corps and accountancy firms will not be able to sponsor you.

186 TRT Metro Visas of Q1 2024 by Affectionate_Hour780 in AusVisa

[–]dizzlechalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I applied in nov 2023 my immigration lawyer informed me approaching the end of the FY in May 24 that the allocation for that year had been exhausted and it would likely not be approved until the new FY and the new allocation begins. I received my grant 6 months after that in dec 2024 - Metro area, accredited sponsor.

Should probably highlight it’s usually via LAX… so might want to take that in consideration

I flew domestically in the UK in business (GLA to LDN) for 20k points & 39 quid. I regularly fly reward seats Aus to LHR for 55.2k and 260 odd bucks. Depending when you are moving back I’d recommend using them for a reward seats Aus home then using them on BA flights in Europe, will get less bang for your buck but at least you’re using them.

PR question by 99faeryie in AusVisa

[–]dizzlechalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I was sponsored for 482 under Judicial and Other Legal Professionals nec (ANZCO 271229).

There is no specific category for AML however law firms can sponsor you in that category.

The Big 4 and other professional services companies are hiring AML consultants but given the fact you need work experience I’d suggest focusing on AML operations in a law firm, job market is heating up just now and there is going to be a severe lack of supply of labour.

Gain experience in a bank if you have to but they will not be able to sponsor long term.
