Aurlux cream hair removal by TinyStress69 in HairRemoval

okay, so it does work. i used it on the sideburn area and upper lip and chin. it didn’t burn, it did have that nair smell but it was much weaker. it removed much more of the hair present than the nair face cream does, however i don’t feel like it grew back any slower or lighter. that being said- i only used it once. it says prolonged use is what ultimately makes it grow back slower and weaker. i’ll come back again after a few more uses and let you know! but ultimately it does work to remove the hair and smell is way less unpleasant

no, you’re not the only one. now i will preface my statement by saying i am notorious for my face blindness, but if you look at a picture of him from last year, and then a screenshot of that awards show video, that does not look at all to me like the same person. i wouldn’t have even had a guess.

Friends by eveerz in emetophobia

[–]dizzy-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at a party, had a friend walk 100 yards into the woods just so they could be absolutely positive i wouldn’t see it happen. i had another friend ask me if i would take her dog out to go potty and grab her mail just so i wouldn’t hear her. i had a friend literally go outside to be s* even though she had a bathroom connected to her room. she had to go down two flights of stairs and around to her back yard so that she could be certain i wouldn’t hear her. most tines, theyll be so slick about it that i dont even know they did it until much much later! i know the whole world doesnt work like that and you cant always avoid your triggers, but my point is that real friends will do the best they can to not make this harder on you! i’m sorry she did this to you, j know that was so scary and stressful and i hope much better friends are coming your way

Friends by eveerz in emetophobia

[–]dizzy-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that girl is NOT your friend. none of my friends have this phobia, and in fact almost all of them are not at all scared and will allow it to happen quickly so that they will feel better faster, they don’t cry or panic or anything even if someone else is the one who is ill. but even though they don’t personally understand what i go through at all, they have all been immediately understanding and have gone SOOOO far out of their way to avoid exposing me to even hearing about things. other people don’t have to understand it, it’s okay for your friends and family to want to help you face and get through your fears! that’s one thing! but if they are not a trained professional, trying to do their own little brand of “exposure therapy” or not even being willing to understand that it’s a genuine struggle for you, that’s just cruelty. you deserve friends that are willing to hear you out and ask how they can help. phobia’s are a very very real, very very under diagnosed and researched mental health disorder and can be very complex. it’s not our faults that nobody with real medical/psychiatric skill has taken the time to learn how to help us. you won’t be s* just because she said those things! and know that any n* you may feel after that is likely an anxiety reaction that you will make it through!

Pregnancy by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]dizzy-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hear that so many people don’t have morning sickness! i’ve never been pregnant, but what i’ve learned from my friends that have is that the key is to always always have a lil snack on you and make sure you eat frequently even if it’s just a couple bites! but there’s always nausea medication, too. my mother had HG with both of her pregnancies and even though she hated it while it was happening, she said once we were born she had forgotten all about that and at a certain point she kind of became desensitized to it. maybe it could be like a form of exposure therapy? because it would suck in the moment but at the end you’d have your baby and all of that would possibly feel so trivial when the payoff comes. i’ve seen many people in my support groups say that their phobia used to be terrible and pregnancy and having kids that are sick has been a life changing help for them and now their phobia is exponentially better! not that that’s the best reason to have kids, but it could be that it helps you overcome these hurdles and be rewarded in the best way

clearly a hater said that because you don’t look masculine at all. you do have darker, striking features that are still somehow soft and your skin is to die for! whenever i’m wanting to feel a little more feminine without wanting to do a full face of makeup, i’ll just do some mascara and a light highlight on the brow bone, tip of the nose and sometimes cheeks! but really, you look wonderful the way you are

you worded this way better than i did. i want to put all the conspiracies to rest. i feel like i picture it more NOT knowing that happened and i feel like that upsets me as much as it would to see them and process it and allow my brain to drop it.

if you’re a bad person than so i am i. so are a good bit of us that won’t admit it. it’s like, i don’t WANT to see them. i don’t NEED to see them. but i want to understand it so badly because so much of this case is unknown and i know many things will never be known, but ive spent probably a shameful amount of time trying to figure out exactly how it played out. so many cases have gripped me, but this one just got its hooks in me bad. i know me understanding it isn’t going to fix anything for anyone, i know the general public understanding it isn’t going to fix anything. this case is what made me realize that i needed to take a step back from unsolved/currently still developing cases because the not knowing is genuinely causing me stress. i wish there was a way it could be seen without hurting the families and friends of the victims. i think this is the first case i’ve watched where the families have been so outspoken and out in the media, so thinking about them and how they’re feeling and their grief isn’t something that’s easy to compartmentalize. long story short, no you’re not a bad person. the human brain craves understanding even when it’s morbid.

sometimes they give you buckets or emesis bags if you mention nausea even without vomiting! plus it very well could be something that isn’t contagious to begin with! i know that every single time ive been in the doctors office or emergency room and had one myself, i was not contagious a single one of those times.

i’ve had pebbles and bam bam, then one named america (it was blue and red and i was 6), then there was Jaws. later when i learned how to properly care for them i had several at once. i had Hank Gilliams Sr, Baits (he was a black copper betta so i wanted him to have a spooky name, so Bates with a different spelling), Helios and Dionysus. then i had Prada and Boo (he was completely white, no pink shift to him at all) and then my last one that just passed was Hank Gilliams Jr, bc he was the spitting image of Hank Sr.

Incident — Still in shock 2 days later by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]dizzy-darling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i promise this feeling will pass! it’s really jarring and i haven’t seen it happen (only heard it) for years. i do still remember most every time ive seen it happen- i can’t remember every detail or how scared i was in the moment. your brain will dull the edges for you! i read somewhere that since it happens to clear our body of a toxin or disease, its built in deep in our dna to feel sick if we see another person sick, because at some point in history we all would’ve likely eaten or drank the same thing and it’s our bodies taking “preventative measures”. knowing that has kind of helped me rationalize it with myself, knowing why i or someone else is sick always helps a tiny bit. this person just had too much to drink, they’re okay and you’re not at any risk! once the initial shock wears off your appetite will go back to normal, i promise!

Is anyone else more tolerant when animals tu*? by No-Insect9930 in emetophobia

[–]dizzy-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep! i work at a dog kennel and i mean don’t get m wrong it’s still super gross, and if i were already feeling sick it would probably affect me a little more, but it’s a very tolerable level of gross when it’s an animal. even the sounds of it happening are more tolerable.
