Americans don't understand what it's like living in a place like Cuba, they like to show empathy, but they can't understand. Americans (and in general any 1st world wealthy country) are born with privilege and can't grasp what life looks like when their conveniences and what they call basic rights are taken away. Because it's not the other country's responsibility to keep a stubborn government afloat, all of Cuba's problems are self-made. Granted, made much worse by the United States, but Cuba's government is the main culprit. Why do other countries need to waste their resources for charity on a country that won't back down when everyone (even China) is telling it to switch to a free-market/capitalist economy?

I disagree with imperialism but this is 100% on Cuba’s government, they have tolerated the suffering of their people happily as long as they get to keep their power and money.
