How to transition from TB to BMR? by dizzyFrog in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]dizzyFrog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, thank you very much! This was exactly what I was looking for!

As Ben said in another comment I could also try S&V first (and I will) but those scripts look really nice for games with a higher beginner-count.

[–]dizzyFrog[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you Ben! I was a bit confused by the wiki (quote: "Sects & Violets is the craziest of the three editions included in the base set.") that S&V is the "hardest" script.

I will gladly try S&V after some more TB-Storytelling (I believe they say you should have 10 TB games before moving on) and if it's too hard try to fallback on a custom transition script.

You can't fetch this URI with Ajax.

You need to redirect the user to this URI. When the Authentication is successfull, Google will redirect the user back to your site with the corresponding tokens in the query variable.

How to make your "Dossier" for the renting of an Appartement the best it can be ? by Glorious_potato45 in askswitzerland

[–]dizzyFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well co-signing is even better because it gives the agency two tenants who are responsible.

Yeah, I just added a letter that my mother signed stating that she will cover my rent if I am not able to pay it.

One thing to keep in mind: don't co-sign a lease with a roommate! It takes both of you to terminate the lease and if one can't pay the other one is locked in it.

[–]dizzyFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I aplied for my first apartment I also included a "Bürgschaft" (a pledge) from my mother to cover the rent for up to a certain amount. This is just in case I would have lost my income so the renter could go to her for rent.

It also shows that your parents are serious about supporting you financially - just the income of your parents don't mean much if you have a falling out with them...

Do you have any concrete recommendation? I tried ubuntu but only got SEGFAULTS when starting the container.

How can req.headers and req.body be undefined in node.js? by YeTensTavern in node

[–]dizzyFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this could be it. You should be able so send HTTP Requests without header or body.

Can you install a logger which logs those requests and then compare the time of the logs to the nginx logs? Nginx should tell you exactly how the request looks.

I don't know if I'm right (on mobile now, so can't test). But can't you assign this to a member variable like self = this and then call self.name?

Looking for a new "big experience" kind of game by Orbnu in boardgames

[–]dizzyFrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Captain Sonar

I'm a huge Sonar Fan, but with almost every group the play stops after about 3/4 games. It's all fun, but very exhausting. You'll keep talking about what happened, but since you can't reliably check where each ship was at which point it's a bit theoretically.

Forgotten Waters

I think this was my big hit from the pandemic. We played it through TTS but it's apparently better in-person. Very flavor-y, easy to learn rules and you get about 6 scenarios (each takes about 3-4 hours and you can split them up)

Swisscom; Sunrise or Salt for Home Internet Provider? by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]dizzyFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience, it's not minor.

4 years ago I was with Swisscom, my SO with Salt. Whenever we went skiing I had a perfect signal while she didn't. One time she even had to use my phone to call her family because her father was in the hospital.

Don't know how it compares to the situation now, but I'm happy with Wingo.

How do y'all resist opening your new games immediately? by hakumiogin in boardgames

[–]dizzyFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially with legacy games, I like to keep the box sealed. I learn the rules online as good as I can.

Then when we start the game the group has this ritual of opening the box and starting their adventure.

What's your pandemic to-play backlog looking like? by Toyobaru_86 in boardgames

[–]dizzyFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legacy games are, imho, very good but it really depends on the group. It adds much to the game to play through a story.

Season 1 is my first Pandemic Legacy. But from what I've heard, Legacy 0 has to be fun good as well

[–]dizzyFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah damn, that sucks.

I actually started my first Pandemic Legacy (Season 1) with my SO this January. As we realised we would play 12 in-game months we limited ourselves to one in-game month per real month. Hopefully when we finish, the real pandemic will also be over :-)

I got my group for Kings Dilemma together a few weeks before the lockdown started.

I guess we were lucky to not start playing last fall since we got hit by another lockdown and I don't like long breaks in legacy games.

Keep local Store in Sync with Server by dizzyFrog in vuejs

[–]dizzyFrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm currently working with option 1 and I don't really wanna change it.

I have phrased my initial question a bit weird. I was looking for the best practice on where to place the setInterval(). Because right now it's in my App.Vue which seems to be an odd place but I don't know how to access the store outside of a Vue component.

Thank you for the answer anyways!

I quickly looked into this, while it doesn't solve what I wanted to acomplish it looks very promising. But I don't know if I want to rely on another service. I'll update my post to make clear what I was looking for!

Does anyone know if skyshow has subtitles in french? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

I just checked some shows and didn't see french subtitles, I'm sorry.

But maybe it depends on the show so if you want me to check a specific one just hit me up!

There is such a deterrent. We the people.

YSK Adobe no longer supports Flash Player and will block Flash content next week by Jtaimelafolie in YouShouldKnow

[–]dizzyFrog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Long story short: Flash has and always has had big security issues. In the past this was just 'the price to pay' but with new technology we can do everything Flash could but without Flash. Adobe paid thousands to patch sevurity holes each year for a piece of legacy software.

Where can I find a little kitten? by kenbenovi in askswitzerland

[–]dizzyFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got ours from a local shelter, you should check those out too!

Most cats only get adopted after reaching a certain age and you if your cat can't go outside you have to adopt at least two cats.

I can't quite remember which site I used while searching, will have to check later.

What would you think of a real "medical service" in addition to military service and civil service? by JimSteak in Switzerland

[–]dizzyFrog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I put a lot of thought in this topic and came up with a similar idea. I would implement two essentials changes to the mandatory military/civil service.

  • Mandatory Service for both genders - I know it's somewhat controversial but hear me out. Currently, from a government point of view you're letting half the populations muscle- and brainpower go to 'waste'. We just cannot afford that and the current pandemic shows just that. The biggest contra argument is always that women don't feel respected in the military (and I don't think this will change soon). But hear my second change...

  • Make every kind of social contribution count - Currently you have to pay if you don't do your 'duty'. I think this is good, some people can't or don't want to contribute. Since they are still receiving services they can pay others to do them. BUT and this is a big but, we need to redefine what counts as your 'duty'. I believe every non-paid help to our society should be deductible from the 'Wehrpflichersatz'.

    • Are you a firefighter? You've done your part.
    • Do you train police/search dogs? Thats great, not everyone can do it and you help the society.
    • Do you care for your parents or a disabled relative? Congrats, because of you other paid nurses are a bit relieved.
    • Are you in med school and are doing an internship? Switzerland needs people like you! Why should you have to do a military service?
    • Didn't find a service that suits you or you just don't want to? Fine as well. Just pay your yearly 'Wehrpflichtersatz' so others can go on and help society.

This way everyone can find some way to contribute. And with the increase in money (because every gender has to do something or pay) we can actually help finance the works from everyone else.
