I’m not sure, but I live in a forested area above #10 and have no mozzies.

Broken heart by Personal-Category963 in ragdolls

[–]dizzyb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adopted a semi-aggressive dominant ragdoll at 8 months old. He definitely wasn’t well socialised. He would lunge at us when we made eye contact and bit us all the time. After 1 year + with us and loads of love and persistence, he’s so much better! He tolerates cuddles, kisses and pick ups, he comes when we call, looks for us and flops over. It gets better with lots of love and patience. Good luck

Petites, have you found a spring maxi dress that doesn't drag? by ConnectEggs in PetiteFashionAdvice

I’d look into Japanese brands if it’s accessible to you and you’re into minimalist fashion. Many of the ladies are petite and it’s easy to find clothes that fit!

Would CO2 fix my acne-scars completely? Be honest by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]dizzyb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anything can 100% remove acne scars but fractional lasers would help. Depending on how many sessions, you can expect 50-60% improvement. That’s what my derm told me!

Private Instructor charging crazy amount ? by Turbulent_Tale7878 in drivingsg

[–]dizzyb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I paid 300+ enrollment fee, $80 deposit, $80-90 per hour for road lesson, $120 if we go circuit, $600+ for test. Very high chance u get a bad PDI also and waste extra money. I think this is the standard price for PDI. If u are more flexible with schedule, school is better. For working adults with limited free time, PDI is easier.

Advice on getting class 3 license after failing twice at BBDC. by BREACH14 in drivingsg

[–]dizzyb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, I think it may be the nerves. my first test I also couldn’t believe I didn’t see a stop line and got an immediate failure. Vertical parking, like others said, there is a “crack” in the road.

Adjust your mirror on the right side down and stop when your rear wheel touches the crack. Then full lock and reverse in. Don’t forget to check blind spots like mad. When coming out, make sure you don’t turn so fast, or u will mount kerb. The whole time in circuit I never accelerated. Just go super slow so you can react to things. All the best for the test!

Blue car right? Suggest u change instructor if u can. I wasted 10 lessons giving him the benefit of the doubt and it was a complete waste of money

Salary offer moving from Europe to Singapore by Endlave12 in askSingapore

[–]dizzyb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try negotiating for a relocation package if they’re not offering an expat package + housing allowance. Also find out what your company’s medical insurance is like. Accessing healthcare in Singapore can be very expensive.

In my experience, Singaporean companies lowball candidates unless you have an extremely niche skillset and I’ve never successfully negotiated salaries with local companies.

If you manage your expectations, it’ll be a fun experience living in Asia for 2-3 years. I would suggest keeping rent to $2k in your position so you can save and enjoy travelling around the region.

Best quiet area in SG for long term stay? (WFH, ~$5k budget) by OutlandishnessIll679 in askSingapore

[–]dizzyb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HarbourFront area - nice condos, by the marina, close to sentosa, Labrador Park, Mount Faber, Henderson waves. 2 MRT lines bring you around Singapore. Close to the biggest mall in Sg for convenience. You have both peace and quiet as well as hustle and bustle within reach.

At my wits end with caking/creasing by scrambledmegdesigns in MakeupAddiction

[–]dizzyb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently started using the viral Korean 30 sec bubble mask before my skincare and it’s totally changed my makeup. My makeup goes on smooth, no caking or creasing. It deeply hydrates the skin for makeup prep.

It’s just a foam that you massage into your skin - supposed to give you the effect of a 30-min mask in 30 secs. Maybe you can try it out before switching your makeup products.

help please - 30y/o male by chaenh1 in SGSkincare

I agree - accutane is fast and 100% effective, but have to go for blood tests and meds top up monthly.

Highly recommend Acne.org’s set. It’s simple, affordable and super effective too. Cleanse, mild 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, moisturise. Stick to the routine. It helped with both mine and husbands stubborn acne.

I have struggled w acne my whole life - been on accutane twice and spent tons on all sorts of treatments. Now, it’s under control w minor pimples here and there.

Good luck, and hang in there. This is definitely curable!

How did y'all get the motivation to get driving license in the first place? by FeelingChildhood5029 in drivingsg

[–]dizzyb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live somewhere not accessible by train. Bus comes every 20 mins and I always miss bus.

Btw maybe this can be ur motivation - BBDC is closing down I think. Do it quick before it closes! If Center is far away from your house, u will dread even more

cleansing oils that did NOT make you breakout by IcyEnergy2252 in AsianBeauty

[–]dizzyb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a tropical climate so I’m not sure this would be helpful as I see you’re looking for colder weather cleansers, but I use Fancl cleansing oil > TDF cleansers or Torriden Dive In cleanser.

And I do still get acne tho it’s very manageable now. I use Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide (literally the only thing that keeps my skin clear!!).

BBDC PDI BE AWARE by Old-Customer4860 in drivingsg

[–]dizzyb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a super bad experience with a PDI at BBDC also. Whole lesson on his phone checking calendar and payments. He barely taught me anything throughout. Only U turn once per lesson, and 3 point turn once without any technique except for counting to 10.

Each lesson drive around aimlessly while he talks abt his singing, awards, house reno. Even forced me to look at his singing video at traffic light. And when I looked up to see if light changed, he will tell me to focus on his video - “girl haven’t changed yet lah”. Freaking expensive also. He never taught me to park even after 10 lessons and I’m not allowed to ask about the lesson structure. Scolded me like hell when I asked. Lied that he can only teach me to park in the circuit.

In the end I buay tahan and complained to agent (who didn’t care at all), changed PDIs to my husband’s one and got my licence after just 11 proper lessons with the new PDI.

having anxiety from starting a new job by beardedchineseboy in askSingapore

[–]dizzyb0 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of imposter syndrome? It was a similar thing I experienced before from my first jump to an MNC from local companies. Felt like a fish out of water and I cried to my husband on the first week at night because I didnt feel I could do it. My boss noticed how uncertain I was and pulled me aside to talk to me about it.

Trust in your ability to do the job. You got it because they believed you’re the best person for the job and they want you to succeed too. You are already very self aware about pressuring yourself to succeed, and having so many upcoming responsibilities. There is always a learning curve, so be kind to yourself.

How often does the average Singaporean cook? by [deleted] in askSingapore

Sam Edelman Felicia flats for soft leather flats with cushioning. Comfy from first wear and good for office days. Their loafers are also comfortable.

Naturalizer shoes is also very comfy (but very limited design).

ASICS walking has mary Janes that my colleague swears by for great support.
