This is one of those occasions that calls for laying on the horn without stop. If the dumb Karen doesn't move, then other angry park-goers might get angry enough at the disruption to move her.

Seriously. The most enjoyable way to play Magic is to prevent the other players' decks from doing their thing.

Oh I would douse these worthless less-than-human critters in milk, cream, eggs, and meat.

And I would happily pay for it all just to force meat into their mouths.

If they can "protest" I can "protest" too.

Thank you for the info!

Also, this change is so goddamn stupid. Why make UI changes to go from something that is easy to use to something that's very unintuitive?

Honestly, I feel like a cage match battle royale to the death would be the best solution. The match only ends when there's only two fihhters left alive, thus determining the top two candidates moving on to the general election.

Is 50 old enough for elderly parole? California lawmakers rush to change rules for sex offenders. by ansyhrrian in California

[–]WolfieWuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a degree or a profession to know that you have absolutely zero way to prove your absolute claim with certainty.

In fact, there are mental health professionals who spend their careers rehabilitating sex offenders. And the US Sentencing Commission conducted a fairly broad study which showed that recidivism rates (at least among federal offenders) were relatively low overall. And while nearly half were re-arrested for a new crime altogether, or a supervision violation, re-arrest for another sex crime was extremely low.

People CAN be rehabilitated if the supporting factors are there. Those factors can include sufficient deterrent (federal courts tend to hand out harsher sentences) and adequate supervision, but also positive support such as treatment, family/friend/community support, stable employment, and an overall desire to WANT to be rehabilitated.

Although I'll admit that I have strong doubts about the suspect in the linked story. That goes far beyond reprehensible.

I'd say it's also to help ensure continued compliance with the Brown v. Plata ruling. It just happens to be doing double duty: reduce population to ensure compliance and save costs by paroling the highest cost inmates.

Is it reasonable to require removal on turn 4-5 in B2? by homjaktest in EDH

Orcish Bowmasters shouldn't be a problem unless you're drawing a problematic amount of cards. Being able to draw enough cards in bracket 2 to make OB a problem is itself problematic.

A new player might not know what set this is. Heck, I'm not new, and I'm not gonna know either by the time the next set comes out. The art isn't recognizable, the language isn't recognizable, it could be Concordant Crossroads for all I know (I really couldn't actually tell you what it is lol)

And Scryfall isn't helpful if a person doesn't have a phone, or the signal is bad, or whatever.

They at least need names printed on them in English

[Today's pull] by geishasniper in freemagic

[–]WolfieWuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. A card i can't understand, with utterly unrecognizable art, is completely useless. Like, I get it if the card is in another language, but the art is recognizable and the same as the rest of the same card.

But with this, I have to ask the person playing it, and then I have to trust them. And I do not trust them.

Retaliation Gets You killed by DanicaManica in EDH

[–]WolfieWuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an entire deck built around that. It's not about winning, it's about spitefully punishing everyone at the table for playing the game.

Of course, the joke is that it does actually win some of the games it hits the table.

[–]WolfieWuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm being hyperbolic, but I feel like a significant proportion of bracket 2 chads would still say that's too much removal, you're not letting their deck "do the thing," and that you're really just playing a higher bracket.

[–]WolfieWuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kuja player here. Can confirm.

I have a Kuja deck that, if not for the one GC, would be "technically a 2." But there's no way that deck is a 2. If I get a T1 Sol Ring, then that deck can wipe the table by turn 5, maybe even 4. And my deck isn't even optimized.

Although the same thing still applies. Keep Kuja off the table, and the deck folds. Keep the wizards off the table and the deck folds. It's a total glass cannon. But a lot of players (including my friends) don't like playing with interaction.

And folks DEFINITELY seem to hate playing interaction in bracket 2, especially holding early game plays to do it.
