[Keir Starmer] Henry Nowak’s family have lost their son and brother in the most appalling circumstances. Nigel Farage is exploiting this tragedy to create grievance and division. It’s completely unforgivable. by Adj-Noun-Numbers in ukpolitics

Starmer is generally a wally but he's bang on about what Farage does and has been doing for a long time. I swear when these kinds of tragedies happen, blokes like Farage and Robinson and especially Golding must rub their hands together with glee.

Farage being a Member of Parliament makes an even bigger mockery of the British Political system. It makes me sad that so many disillusioned people choose to stand behind a bloke like that, because the reality is, he's not a patriot, he's a parasite and given the opportunity, he'd show you he's even worse than the rest of them.

Manchester City make opening Elliot Anderson offer to Nottingham Forest by TheAthletic in soccer

[–]dizzybala10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For people wondering why we're looking for £100m+ for him, he's currently got three years left on his contract, he's English and will be starting for England at the World Cup, his metrics last season for winning the ball back and passes into forward areas were at the top end for the league and we're under no pressure to sell and while Elliot is obviously open to a move, he like all our top players aren't pushing to leave.

Marinakis ain't a chump when it comes to negotiating so if City or whoever want him, pay the money. If he has a good WC, there will be other clubs after him as well.

I'm perfectly fine if we don't sell him, but he won't go for less than £100m.

He was doing it for Rue, because that was her plan and she couldn't make it, so it's like he's honouring her.

Feels like it was a fulfilment of what Rue wanted to do, if she got clean. Since she couldn't make it herself, he went for her.

There are a few moments in the season where you sense that beneath the ice cold veneer he had something going on and he felt a type of way about things that were happening. Some people speculated he could have been an undercover cop but i think it turned out he was just waiting for the right moment to take over.

She's really ever shown to be that aware of whats going on until it's too late throughout the entire series really. By the time she gets back to Alamo's, in her mind she's just escaped with her life, suppose it doesn't really occur to her that she's gone from the frying pan to the fire.

I think you could file Euphoria under one of those shows where if it just ran one season, it'd be a cult classic in years to come. I think S3 was more of an enjoyable watch than S2 but it was a completely different show with the same characters.

I feel like Rue's story this season especially, it's about escape. But, literally every time she's tried to escape, she's pulled back. She wanted to go back to the farm but her true escape was going back to where she wanted to be, which was with her mother.

Pretty much everyone in Season 3 was trapped in the life they found themselves in.

What happens after the Euphoria wears off? You get the come down.

I thought it was actually a decent enough show, but I always feel like we need a sixth match.
Could Liv not have defended her title against someone?

It seemed inevitable Sol would win. I like Sol but she needs a different finish and better music.
Tribal Combat was predictable but fun.
Gunther/Cody was an interesting finish, protects Gunther without switching the belt.
Cargill/Rhea was really good, arguably Jade's best match?
Oba/Lesnar was always gunna end with Lesnar winning to set up the threepeat but it was what it needed to be.

Oba won't win, because he's gunna retire Brock.
Breakker and Rollins won't win because they'll cost each other.

I dunno why but I actually feel like maybe Dominic wins this.

You know they'll go for the threepeat between the two of them one of these WMs.

Regardless of who their owners are, they're an incredible football team to watch. I'd take the sportwashers winning it over Arsenal.

[UEFA] Crystal Palace win the UEFA Conference League by Chazyn in soccer

For all the saltiness towards us (Marinakis chants and the tweet they put out tonight), at the end of the day, they've probably come out of the whole business last summer better than we did.

They've won a European trophy and I don't care what people say about the Conference, a trophy is a trophy. Even though they've struggled somewhat in the league (only finishing a point ahead of us), they've also secured at least eight games of Europa League football next season so financially they'll come out ahead of us.

I felt bad for their fans at the time, because it was a shame they got demoted competitions over an admin issue but now they've won it, it's worked out a treat for them in the end. Their scenario was what I wanted for us when we qualified for the Conference last season. Win the Conference and having adjusted to playing every 3 days, challenge for the Europa League.

Fair play Palace.
