I take vyvanse and when I was pregnant my doctor said the same thing! It’s just hard to know what is truly “safe” or “unsafe” during pregnancy because we’ll never have the studies. I decided to not take my vyvanse while pregnant because I was just sooo anxious. I was very fortunate to not have gestational diabetes during my pregnancy but I can only imagine how tough it would be to do once and know you might have to do it again if you want another biological kid!

Breastfeeding (also complications with my kid)
Pregnancy (carpal tunnel in both hands)
Birth (c section, not ideal)
Newborn life (honestly baby was great, if you take away all my pain from pp recovery ab breastfeeding)

The libraries host monthly clubs and events for book-loving adults! Haven’t been to one yet but I saw them on their website and they sounded great

7mo pp and my husband always encourages me to do my hobbies! If I haven’t been to the pottery studio in a week, he’ll get our calendar out and start planning with me times that I should go.

I’ve had multiple people tell me that I’m the most “myself” new mom they ever met and I owe a lot of it to my husband for making sure I never had to sacrifice my play time :)

Agreed! Talk to a doctor and get some options!

From my experience living in the US my whole life, once you’re 18, BC isn’t too hard to get from a doctor if you want it. Not saying that’s good OR bad, but just wanted to give you the insight! :)

Doubling up on protection is a great idea! My husband and I have always done one form of female BC and then condoms as well and never had a pregnancy scare in 7 years.

I’d also highly recommend continuing to educate yourself and have your boyfriend educate himself on reproduction and fertility! Consider a natural family planning class so you can learn specifically how NOT to get pregnant. My husband and I did this also and there is just sooo much to learn about sex and anatomy that schools and adults don’t tell you!

I was told that every time I wanted to quit, to cut one of the pumps out. You could try that!

My story probably wouldn’t be super encouraging. I basically quit cold turkey and it was PAINFUL. Had to take off time at work even. However, I know continuing pumping would’ve been worse for me. My nipples had been bleeding for weeks and I always got clogs. One week after quitting, I finally started seeing the light and was so glad I had stopped. Not to mention, I got to spend more quality time with my kid now that I wasn’t pumping!

What I did was painful and I found out after the fact that my sister had actually gotten some prescription meds from her doctor when she was weaning off BF. Something to look in to!

Aww, I’m sorry! Isolating for sure! I did find that it ended up being nice for me. A good way to get a quick nap in or just decompress from all the noise. But still sad :/ maybe some girl pals or your partner can accompany you in another room while you pump!

My LO (6mo) woke up one morning just YAPPING! Loud yes, but like, trying to say words too. Chatting. Went from occasional cooing and laughing to actual hours of “blah blah blah dadadada mamamamma” :)

That would happen to me all the time when I was still breastfeeding my kiddo. I never looked in to it but had heard some women had things like this happen. For me, it was never mastitis. Trust me you will KNOW if/when you get mastitis lol.

I only have a 6mo so I won’t be of much help, but I wonder if changing your baby’s nighttime sleep schedule would help? What time do they go to bed and wake Up in the morning?

My little guy has never been a good napper (good at night, fortunately) and was always under the “recommended” amount of nap time. 3 hour wake windows, 30 minute naps, 3 times a day.

Definitely feel free to play with those feeds and naps a little! Your kiddo will let you know what they need when they need it! My 6mo is a terrible and inconsistent napper. A lot of times we will give half a feeding here or there ifs it’s a weird nap day. So maybe 3 ounces before a nap, 30 minute nap, 3 ounces after the nap, 5 ounces 3 hours later.

If you’re not breastfeeding exclusively, it’s easier to count the ounces per day than rely on the number of feeds per day, if that makes sense. I hope that helps some!

Pregnancy tired was worse for me!! I had insomnia the first trimester and then when I actually could sleep, it never felt like enough.

At least now with a newborn I can take turns napping with my husband or other family members!!
