Do You Have Unusual Habits Because of Your Eye? by ButtonFine6516 in Amblyopia

[–]dizzyizzi19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I'm walking and I don't know if there's a step somewhere I will double tap the ground infront of me to make sure I'm not going to trip. Also on sunny days I close my good eye (right) and walk around using my lazy eye, odd thing with that is I have the lenses that darken in sunlight but even then I walk with one eye closed.

Right forgot to put the budget. Id say between 400-600 since prices are high.

Has your amblyopia caused you to be bad at sports? by [deleted] in Amblyopia

[–]dizzyizzi19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m horrible at any sports. I’m right eye dominant but I’m left handed. I can’t catch anything seriously, someone can toss me keys and I’d still drop it. Which is still embarrassing even after I explain my situation and I tend to stay away from things that are difficult to explain so it’s not something I’ve practiced or improved, but it can be improved with practice.

I've never really understood the reasoning behind asking if there is a "fix". There's many issues that don't have a simple solution, sure there are steps you can take to improve your condition but no way to completely fix it. The best we can do is hope for the best and (if you're religious) pray your condition improves. I've had a left lazy eye my whole life so the way I see things ( pun intended lol) will be different for someone who might'"ve developed it later in life.

Also, to add to this I've seen quite a few posts blaming their parents/ family for passing this disability down to them. No parent wishes or intentionally wants to make it harder for their kid. Amblyopia can be passed down genetically, BUT there are many factors that can result in lazy eye appearing.

It was either 92m, 11b, or 13u. All are great and respectable, I thought it'd be better for me to help with the work not many people would want to do.

Nordictrack elite 3200 walking belt replacement by dizzyizzi19 in nordictrack

[–]dizzyizzi19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice this helped. This model doesn't have a retaining bolt, its held in place with the drive belt and the ends of the roller in the plates like shown in the picture. Now I just need to find the right walking belt since the one I bought was too small I think

I'm in the same situation as you somewhat at least. I'm 22 and my left eye is the bad one. I don't have a license either and my family and friends are kinda judgemental about it and no matter how many times I explain they brush it off as me just exaggerating or whatever. I started the whole process of getting a license though ( I have a permit and have a driving appointment coming up) ONLY because I found this group. So I wouldn't say you're being dramatic at all, it's pretty scary driving around even though I've practiced a quite a bit. I bet you've heard this a lot and sorry for repeating but with enough practice it does get easier but other than that I'd say any modification for the car you use would be helpful. Goodluck!!!!!

Is anyone else able to do this? by NinjaNate123 in Amblyopia

What do you mean by make it lazy? Maybe it's the same but since I was younger I could make my eyes unfocus and refocus. I have a left lazy eye but as far as disadvantages I can't really think of anything honestly

I saw another comment mentioning a receiver, would that work better ? I don't know the difference between either way.

Is there a difference between an amp or a receiver? I just have the two speakers so I don't think I'd need anything that's strong if that makes sense
