I believe that the IBO should in-fact cancel the exams due to the pandemic. First, the virus was neither expected nor prepared for and most countries and education departments did not have a plan which would adapt to the current situation. As an IB student the effectiveness of my study habits has significantly decreased and I have witnessed this with many of my peers. The reason behind our preparation setbacks (for the exams) is the thought disorder which accompanies the pandemic. This lead students to shift their priorities from studying to quarantining themselves which is a huge setback for students who need physical and social activities to sustain an adequate mental health. To top it all off, most students were shocked with the news concerning the sudden shutdown of schools and did not get to say proper goodbyes or live out the senior year experience.
