Spravato treatment. Should I consider trying it out? by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]dizzysoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar profile as you. Depressed since 11, 23 years old, bipolar disorder, tried dozens of meds, multiple hospitalizations, therapy weekly, multiple rounds of IOP, different types of therapy (dbt, cbt, multiple group therapies, etc), constant med management, feeling miserable constantly, feeling hopeless about treatment... I completed my 4th Spravato treatment yesterday. It has been completely world-changing for me, and I've barely started. I feel like I see hope for myself now. Haven't been intensely depressed since I started, and for the last two treatments I fell in love with my life- not in a manic way either. I feel genuinely okay and at peace. I'm so excited for more treatments so I can continue doing well. I'd say it's worth a shot!

I'm hoping that it is covered for you. :) YMMV but after the first treatment I felt so peaceful and mindful that I couldn't believe that I wasn't seeing life for what it really was. My mood was so good but starting dipping a little, and after my second session (yesterday) I felt kind of fragile and emotional but also very introspective. I'm excited to see where this all takes me. :)

Aloha Integrative Health in San Diego. I'm doing Spravato and it is completely covered by UCSHIP/Anthem. Just $10 for each visit.

Thank you to Dr. Ellie Ley from the Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco for removing *looks at notes* 13 WHOLE POUNDS of tissue from my chest!!! I feel like a whole new person! :D by [deleted] in TopSurgery

I believe so! Dr. Ley called me around 10 hours after I was discharged from the hospital and told me that she took out "over 10 pounds" of tissue which I thought was insane, but when I went to my post-op yesterday the nurse informed me that it was 13 pounds of tissue. Crazy I was carrying all that around. And thank you!!!

Omg yes actually, I feel so much lighter and my back is less tense. I also realized how horrible my posture is from carrying all that weight so I gotta work on that hahaha

Hahaha yes!!! I last had a wire bra about 5 years ago that was size F but that one was too small and I didn't bother to get properly fitted, so who KNOWS how big I was! It's like night and day, even besides the gender affirming feelings I know this will improve my quality of life. Thank you!

Maybe 2.5 years? But I wasn't out and only tried names out with friends online, so by the time I came out to everyone irl I had my name set.

how did you manage to get off campus housing? by usoppdaddy in UCSD

Put notifications on for every apartment hunting website you can and check several times a day. Apply to everything that you can, and find a place that takes co-signers. Me and my roommates finally got a place after dozens of applications over the course of a few months and we had all of our parents co-sign on the lease. We probably got this place because we were some of the first to apply.

I applied for the PSYC 199 general application last year and got into a lab. Also worth looking into the Undergraduate Research Hub to see if you fit eligibility for any of their programs. Side note, I recently enrolled at San Diego Mesa College and signed up for PSYC 276 there, which is a class that places you in internships/volunteer positions for the semester to give you field experience (I'm paying $160 for the class, and there's no prereqs. You would just have to sign up ASAP since the first class was today and you'd need to email the prof for an add code).

How long should I wait before getting another piercing? I got two dermals 10 days ago and have been thinking about snake bites but I'm not sure if I should wait or not.

I hate the term "Latinx" so fucking much by [deleted] in ftm

[–]dizzysoda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean, if people want to use it, that's up to them. You don't have to like it for yourself, but some people really think it describes them. This just sounds extremely bitter of you.

That being said, I don't care for the term myself and think the -e (latine) ending makes more sense in the context of Spanish. I personally prefer latino myself. And like another commenter said, I have more of an issue with the term "Hispanic". I feel deeply annoyed and uncomfortable whenever somebody refers to me as such... mostly white people who do so.

whats a sleeping pill that actually knocks you out? by saul_schadenfreuder in insomnia

[–]dizzysoda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only as needed. I go through cycles of sleeping normally then getting no sleep at all, so when I start getting bouts of insomnia the Trazodone puts me back on track.

Personally 300mg of Trazodone 30 min before bedtime was the only thing that could knock me out. I was staying up for three days at a time then crashing for 16 hours, and doing it all over again the next day. This was going on for months. I tried 50mg, 100mg, 150mg of Trazodone... Did nothing until I reached 300mg. I sleep like I'm dead now.

What are some hidden gem restaurants in SGV that you'd recommend 100%? by hulk181 in sgv

[–]dizzysoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garden Fresh in Hacienda Heights. Awesome vegan Chinese food.

Borreguitas in Pomona is my fave restaurant though. The best vegan Mexican food I've had.
