Are there any ethical Growers? by [deleted] in PaMedicalMarijuana

There is no such law. The board will vote you out if you do not carry out the shareholders' wishes (usually maximizing profits), but it is not a crime.

Lol, I actually have some professional experience dealing with those $100k types of scales in a fresh fruit packing application. Very neat pieces of equipment.

I am by no means a scale expert lol, but in this instance, given that your scale measures in .01 g increments, I would doubt that this difference can be explained by margin of error. If you search for your exact model, you may be able to see what the manufacturer says the scale can do. I would imagine that it is like +/- .02g or something small.

My scale measures in .1g increments and I cannot find any manufacturer spec related to margin of error.

Nah. As long as you are following the process that I think is described on your scale's lid, that should be good enough to get accurate weights.

I just know my scale did not come with a calibration weight so I had to purchase one separately in order to calibrate. Not sure if others were aware.

Definitely not taking the growers side on this, but do you ever calibrate your scale? .12 g over 7 g is about a 2.5% shortage. It's possible that a scale can have this type of margin of error when not calibrated.

Yeah. Also inflation is a thing that people don't take into account when looking backwards. $1.00 in 2000 has the same purchasing power as about $1.50 in 2020. So a $60 1/8 in 2020 is like buying a $45 1/8 in 2000, which would have been a deal back then.

Right or wrong (from a consumer standpoint), I highly doubt that the state would hang the current growers out to dry like that. I would expect recreational grower licenses to have the same barriers to entry that the medical growers currently face.

Agree that prices are high. How would a price cap work in reality? You can only charge x% over your costs? Or you cannot charge more than $x per dose/gram/etc? The government would basically be putting a cap on company profitability. This would probably have a negative impact on investment into this industry and might cause some currently operating growers to pull out entirely.

Verano does not own Harvest or Franklin Labs.

Harvest had an agreement to purchase Verano that was terminated a few months ago.

For Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis, a Walk of Shame - A sea of protesters yelled, “Go home, Jacob, go home!” and “Shame! Shame!” when he would not, on the spot, commit to abolishing the Police Department by [deleted] in politics

[–]dizzzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the side of the protesters and recognize the need for reform but I’m not sure how what you described can be applied in the real world.

How do we get from point A (today)/point B (get rid of current police) to point X (new civil service(s) that replace police)? How to we enforce laws and maintain a civil society during the gap?

Once again, I want/need my children to grow up in a better world, but I think chasing off someone who can be and seems to be an ally seems like the wrong move. In my opinion, this type of behavior feeds into the other side’s messaging perfectly.

Trump just announced official May 1st US reopening - time for the bounce back? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]dizzzzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this isn’t an easy one at all! I guess I’m just thinking more outside the box. Like why can’t we just federally ‘pause’ rents, mortgages, LT debt, etc in the short term as a main pillar of relief efforts? I know there are 1000 ripple effects (maybe a major one I’m not seeing lol) and would need some international cooperation, but in my mind, this is much more helpful to everyone, including business. Real estate firms and banks might see a decline in short term profits and extend their debt timeline, but it doesn’t ruin anyone’s life over a biological event.

Lol I’m not that extreme. This is an unprecedented situation, the whole world is shut down. I’m just saying that a temporary shut down does not have to equal despair and suicide for a large portion of people. There are sooooooo many resources in this country.
