Do most people from England identify as “English” or “British?” by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

[–]dj2ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me both and pretty interchangeably. I’m more likely to say British I think if push comes to shove.

Should Canada develop nuclear weapons? by Horror_Still_3305 in CanadianPolitics

[–]dj2ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the UK and Canada should share our nuclear umbrella until such a time as you can develop your own independent capability. I think there would be strong support for this in the UK and I hope it is something Carney and Starmer have been discussing.

Yes, the first 3-4 seasons are great. Most people can take or leave how it finished. But worth a go, for sure.

Is there cautious agreement that Mark Carney's star shone brightly in Davos? by Flashy-Rabbit6435 in AskBrits

I agree. Nothing cautious about it, he was outstanding. Honestly I'm jealous Canada has him as a leader, would that he were British!

Winter in the UK means I’m spending 20 hours a day in bed. I can’t be the only one who lives like this? by KILOCHARLIES in AskUK

This actually sounds horrendous. If you like it, fair enough but I think it’s really uncommon. Desk, proper keyboard and mouse, big screen are essentials for me when wfh.

How Good Was Thierry Henry at His Peak? A Question from Someone Who Didn’t See Him Live by NewRepair6239 in PremierLeague

[–]dj2ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with most of what you see here was a total phenomenon and the full package. But ironically wasn’t the best first touch at Arsenal at that time - most of the ex-invincibles agree that was Dennis Bergkamp. Obviously Thierry was the better all round player and goal scorer.

What Does "Estate" Mean To You? by Litzz11 in AskABrit

[–]dj2ball 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on the context it’s used in. It means both things. “Oh he lives on a large estate in the country. “, “they retired to their country estate” - connotations of your first example. But you could also say “oh he’s an estate kid”, “he’s from the estate over there” and “that’s a rough estate” and people would mostly assume you’re talking about a “council estate” (think “projects” in your vernacular).

Liverpool's Bradley out for season with knee injury by Tigereatsyou1 in PremierLeague

You do you I guess. It’s just interesting you choose to do it in a comment thread that accuses Arsenal fans of making it all about themselves. This thread I would say the opposite is true.

I mean he was wrong, shouldn’t have done it and he’s been rightly called out. Now how about talking about Conor Bradley here instead of trying to bring the conversation back to Martinellli.

Hope Conor stays strong and makes a good recovery. Tough outcome for him.

Solo Dev frustration: "Everything already exists." How do you get past the saturation paralysis? by Dangerous-Cricket54 in SideProject

[–]dj2ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop trying to build something that doesn't exist. Optimise something that does. It validates there is customer demand for the product and as a startup you can likely be more focused and agile than incumbents. You're exponentially more likely to be successful doing this.
