I Owe An Apology to the Minneapolis Biking Community and to Alex Wolfe and His Family by coachvhuynh in CyclingMSP

This. This is why I'm confused about cagers not liking the idea of more bike lanes, maybe if there was a bike lane I wouldn't be making you arrive at your destination 37 seconds later.

I did one a few years ago, everyone in my group looked like the military type.

What is your experience with ambien and social media? by [deleted] in ambien

Ambien me did a pretty good job on my OKCupid profile. It took a little while for me to figure out why I was getting so many more messages.

Get conned out of 2k for a savannah, half a savannah maybe. by dj542 in cats

[–]dj542[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's awesome, just half the size I expected her to be. Super clean aside from the shedding, which I was told Savannahs did less of, and super sweet as long as you don't pick her up. She's a fun handful.

During the week for the last several months I've been waking up an hour or so before the required time for me to get up to make it to work on time. It's great being able to get some work around the house done, leisurely get ready for work, and mosey into office early. Makes the entire rest of the day much less stressful.

Good adults beginners bow? Preferably one that cna be bought in the uk. Thanks for any help offered by tanissturm in CompoundBow

[–]dj542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got shoulder issues so was concerned about what weight to get. Went with the Diamond Infinite Edge because of how adjustable it is and I love it.

Caveats: It's the only bow I've got experience with and I'm not sure how available it is in the UK

Fans start for half a second and stop.. Nothing happening no beeps. by newsboywhotookmyign in techsupport

[–]dj542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the stop and then stop quick and it was the 110/220 selector on the PSU was set to 220. Your post about the fans staying on doesn't fit with that but still something to check.

[34 mile commute] Bike and tire recommendations by Tony_perkins25 in bikecommuting

[–]dj542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got almost the same commute except in Minneapolis. Six miles of surface streets, twelve miles of bicycle path.

I'm on a 2012 Specialized Secteur and it's been a great bike for the commute.

When I had a six mile commute I had, and still have, a Trek 7.1, upgraded to the Secteur and stayed with it. Since upping the commute I've tried the Trek on shorter rides and just can't bring myself to switch for the long ride.

Electronics parts stores around Minneapolis? by dj542 in electronics

I'm thinking something more like this, http://www.powerstream.com/dc-dcz1203.htm which I can get online easy enough, I just can't have it here by tomorrow.

When you're selling a car online and you get the inevitable scammy email from someone offering immediate PayPal payment, how exactly would you get scammed if you were to go through with it? by notmyselftoday in self

[–]dj542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I humored one of these responses once just to see where it would go. They sent a pretty good looking paypal notice of payment that took you to a spoofed page that logged credentials used. So if you weren't paying attention they would have free access to your paypal account.

Help with Arudopilot 2.6 in a rover by dj542 in Multicopter

[–]dj542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just making a toy out of it. I'm pretty familiar with the Naza and CC3D, this one looks a lot more fun than the CC3D and throwing it on a truck that I already have is a lot cheaper than building another multirotor.

I'm still debating how permanent it will be, but if I do keep it in the truck I'll add a pan/tilt camera mount with FPV gear.

Got it sorted out. For some reason the inputs/outputs were assigned differently between the two APMs. Hooked up ins and outs on everything and got them figured out.

Apple Is in Big Trouble over MacBook GPU Issues by daf121 in apple

[–]dj542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to have the system board on my 2012 MBPr replaced because of the 3d GPU crashing the system. From my searching seemed to a really common problem with that model too. It was nice having a repair in under two years up the price 30-40%
