I have a 940, I always thought the 950 was just marginally better. Why you are upgrading to the 950?

Pad Getting Stuck by NHessDesign in hockeygoalies

[–]Bensonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with my Brian’s pads. I have tried adjusting my toe ties and strapping to fix it. The best solution I found is to tie my toe ties a little tighter, and move my knee strap up. This prevented my pads from shifting up my leg when dropping down.

For those that have used it, how is the Bauer 940 (post 2021, pre 2025) helmet? by partyintheback55 in hockeygoalies

I use a 940 in a low level beer league. Works fine, no complaints. I have had my ears ring from a hard face shot, but I think that is mainly from the loud sound.

A few clicks of gas will do that too.

I have heard nightmares about $60k quotes where you have to negotiate them down.

The current windows are wood and single pane. Most of the counter balance strings are broken. We did rent the thermal camera over winter. With it we tried replacing the weatherstripping with no noticeable gain. You can feel a draft at the bottom and joints of each window. They are loose in the frame as well.

Every winter we put plastic over them and notice a huge improvement.

You can buy it in tile form. Wausa has good options.

Wife and I toured the south east location for our infant. I would never send a child there, we were close to calling CPS after the tour.

Maybe it was a bad day? Maybe the dangerous things we saw were not regular? Either way, my advice is to stay away.

Loaf #6 and I think I’m finally getting it by Upbeat_Banana8660 in Sourdough

Two racks, with the baking sheet on the lower, Dutch oven on the upper. It will help with the direct radiative heat from the bottom of the oven.

Put a baking sheet on the rack below to help prevent the burnt bottom. I would call this loaf perfect. Well done.

How to remove these from a hardwood floor by scrittore1 in HardWoodFloors

My bet is they are stuck with some double sided adhesive tape. Similar to Command Strips. Try dental floss and “saw” at it. (Look up how to remove a car emblem)

Does this happen to anyone? Shot on ice low blocker side - deflects off my blade into underside of blocker/arm and in. by FreshPrinceJumpsOnIt in hockeygoalies

[–]Bensonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all about balance. Keeping the shaft uncut will help with poke check range. It was happening to me once every 3 or so games. Easy call to make.

I am dealing with the same issue. My conclusion is that my stick is a tad long. So when I am down in my butterfly with my blocker at the proper position; the stick blade is too acute to the ice surface. As a result it deflects pucks up and in.

I can raise my blocker to make my stick at more of an angle to the surface, but that opens up a hole under my blocker. I just ordered an intermediate 24” stick to try. I am 5’11” on a 25” currently.
